Maybe. If there is any substance to it all, he sounds like he really wants to stay at Barca but if he had to go anywhere he’d consider us. Alemany is possibly trying to push him out of the door. Alemany owes us one tbh.

Not sure about that given how crucial our end of season run in was and how well Mings and Konsa were playing. I think we would have seen more of him had we been on the beach and they could have eased him in gently.

Torres over Goncalves. Goncalves seems more of a gamble. Feel the same re both Barnes and Johnson. Would be decent signings and I’d be pleased with either but don’t think either would raise us a level.

So I haven’t listened to the Evans podcast but by all accounts he was reminding people that we are still limited by FFP and need to shift a few players. Whilst he might have been on the negative side, this is all stuff we know. I would be surprised if we had spent so heavily in a non priority position if that was the bulk of our budget. It is frustrating that we can’t shift players for money. The fact that we haven’t been able to sell Davis or Nakamba for a fee after successful loans is annoying. I’d be tempted to tell Luton to do one and loan him elsewhere.

With no timescale suggests that Villa Live is not even being started within the next 5 years which is essentially cancelling that part of the project.

Is it a coincidence that these changes have been announced on the same day the council announces it has a £650 debt and it’s going to mean massive funding cuts? No new station. I doubt we will be a Euros venue now.

Too early to judge. The European window hasn’t opened yet and that is where we will mostly shop. Also I think the Rice sale will have a domino effect of a few moves.

I agree but presumably they think that getting it right long term is better than regretting a full rebrand and the short term embarrassment will be worth it.

If an expert comes in and says this is a mistake, you’d be foolish not to listen to him. They’re putting the brakes on before it goes too far.

It’s a bit of a shambles but that round badge leaves me underwhelmed every time I look at it especially when in a line up with all the other PL badges. It’s made me prefer the current one so I’m glad the club has decided to halt it. We’ve brought Heck in for his expertise, maybe we just have to trust him, that a full rebrand with the round badge wasn’t a good move.
