Out of that list, I could see Torres or Goncalves being possible. I think we could end up with one of them and one of Barnes/Johnson.

I agree that I would rather buy a new RB to challenge Cash and make the impact Moreno has rather than play Konsa in a makeshift role. Obvs if Unai thinks different then that’s fine by me but at the moment I’d prefer a specialist RB.

All of those of facts. But an optimist or even a realist would say that Heck is coming in to correct mistakes that were about to be made and we will be better off for it in the long run. Also it seems to be a difficult summer for everyone. We aren’t doing worse than anyone else. Pau wont fall through. My only real concern is our forward line but there is no chance we start next season with the forward line as it is.

To be fair to Carsley he also said that they wouldn’t be taking any risks with him and making him play with pain killing injections because at the end of the day it’s only development football.

He was limping for a while but it didn’t look anything too major. Shame for him if he misses the next game (if we win this).

I hope he turns out to be as good as people think. When we sign players from other leagues, I’m always apprehensive about whether they’ll be able to cut it in the prem. You lot seem confident though.

And yet he didn’t exactly pull up trees last season so maybe he needs to readjust his expectations. I’m not that fussed. I don’t want to sign someone who thinks they’re doing us a favour. Makes me think of Gerrard.

Maybe. If there is any substance to it all, he sounds like he really wants to stay at Barca but if he had to go anywhere he’d consider us. Alemany is possibly trying to push him out of the door. Alemany owes us one tbh.

Not sure about that given how crucial our end of season run in was and how well Mings and Konsa were playing. I think we would have seen more of him had we been on the beach and they could have eased him in gently.

Torres being forced out but if he has to go anywhere he wouldn’t mind linking up with Emery again is the general gist of this article I think.

Torres over Goncalves. Goncalves seems more of a gamble. Feel the same re both Barnes and Johnson. Would be decent signings and I’d be pleased with either but don’t think either would raise us a level.
