  1. I think that depends very much on how much is required and what is already in place, in our case we have little choice but to buy what would probably be too many for most cases, but we are a unique in this window. I'd say most settled teams tend to bring in 5 or 6 a few to improve the first team and a few to improve the squad, the big teams often only 2-3 if everyone is happy to add to what they have. Occasionally you get overhauls but the benefit rarely shows until a season or two later when everyone has bedded in. In many ways the work Dean and the boys do between now and the start of the season, integrating players, team bonding, work on the training pitch is vitally important and will have a big impact on our season. I'm glad we have so many bodies in place for it and the sooner we get the ones we still need over the line the better!
  2. Will see what I can do, might run out of room at this rate!
  3. https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team/first-team-news/2019/july/man-city-sign-rodri-transfer-news-atletico-madrid This do?
  4. I think it's funny we've asked about Sessegnon, but most likely he's headed to Spuds or Pool, they've shown plenty of interest and should a reasonable fee be agreed they'll be all over it, it's nice to dream though!
  5. Man City have just signed Rodri for massive money to be their Fernandinho replacement. This buy back may just be some insurance for them in case that doesn't work out. As good as this Luiz guy looks he's unlikely to ever get regular game time at City until Fernandinho retires, and by then they'll have likely bought a couple more big money midfielders, they are just hedging their bets, Barca and Real do it all the time but it's not all that often they actual use these clauses. From City's point of view they've got a player they can't play who likely won't make their first team, so why not get some cash in for them to at least pretend they trying to balance the books and if he turns out to be Messi/Ronaldo level then they have an easy pathway to getting him back. In truth what's more likely is they will move him on to us and then find a new shiny thing to throw their money at and forget all about him. Would we rather the clause not be in the deal? Of course. Would we be able to sign him without the clause? Probably not. I don't like being at the whim of the Man City machine, but I do like having very good players at Aston Villa.
  6. Looking at this he doesn't exactly tick the boxes we've been looking for...
  7. Wolves are pretty stocked in center midfield with Neves, Moutinho, Dendoncker, Sais, and Gibbs-White. Unless they are selling Neves I can't see as he'd be a priority for them.
  8. I saw this on Transfermarkt although it had the date as July 1st. So, I'm guessing he was on loan with an option or obligation to buy. Reims could make a quick profit if the rumour is true.
  9. I've never known a minimum fee release clause to include any kind of sell on fee clause. Do you know of any examples where it has? As I understand it once an offer reaches the minimum fee in the clause the selling club no longer has any say in clauses etc. of the deal, so it would of had to of been agreed with Konsa and his agent when he signed for you, and then we'd of had to of agreed to it when our bid was accepted. You may be right I just can't recall it ever happening before so it may be a unique deal if it is the case.
  10. For those that haven't seen anything of him already, this is his highlights from last season... It's so difficult to read much from it because the level of defending he's up against is in the main awful, certainly has some pace and a decent delivery. Must say this is the first player we've been linked with strongly that I'm just not sold on, I can't really put my finger on why, happy to be proved wrong of course!
  11. I think he also said that thanks to the rest he'd got after Mings etc came in he was pain free, so like you said he can manage it from here on in. I think he will be back up, covering the odd suspension or injury and I think that's fine, I don't think we'll be going after another central defender this window, but you never know.
  12. Guy in the office has it on SkyGo but I can't see his screen, keeps randomly pointing his finger in the air, I take it it's going well?!
  13. Ah I thought whack meant good, good job I never felt cool enough to ever actually use it during the 90's...
  14. I think 'Whack' was a thing for a while in the 90's as well...
  15. Of the recent links... Really not sure about Trezeguet, seems like another Traore to me, very rough needs of lots of coaching and we don't really have time to get him up to speed if we are going to hit the ground running. Randolph is not really any better than Steer in my opinion, if we are going to sign another keeper I would hope it would be a significant upgrade rather then a side step. FWIW I'm totally different now to how I was when I was 16, experience changes you rather than age I feel, well it should anyway.
  16. I agree completely, every transfer is a risk. I guess I just feel with Konsa it's a bit more of step up for such a young guy to come in to the Premier League as a first team player in such an important season for us, but then if you are good enough you are old enough, it's all down to mentality then and Dean Smith should know as well as anyone if he is ready. I think Dean Smith is a risk taker, he likes to play out from the back with a high line, in the play off final we left players up the pitch for the last 20 minutes, he puts his faith in youth rather than experience. It's brave management and I like it!
  17. Konsa will be a like for like replacement for Tuanzebe, similar players, similar attributes. I think it is a risk, but I'm encouraged by the fact that Dean Smith obviously knows him, his personality and his capabilities, and he's decided he's worth that risk. There's no way we are paying £12m for any back up player when we have so much business to do, he'll be first team.
  18. He seems very composed on the ball and quick in recovery, it's impossible to say if he's Premier League level, but he seems to have all the tools to be judging by this video. Has all the attributes we are looking for although heading may be a weakness (same as Tuanzebe)? I'd be happy enough if we signed him as it seems a good fit, but it would be a risk.
  19. According to Sky Sports there's a £12m release clause: https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/11681/11755940/fulham-keen-to-sign-brentford-centre-back-ezri-konsa
