  1. I agree, I think for the first hour or so Derby will just be trying to keep themselves in the game and hope we make a few mistakes and gift them something. Not exactly like Baggies tried to do, I'd expect Derby to keep the ball better and press higher up the pitch, but I don't see them taking too many risks with the ball or committing too many men forward until later in the game. The onus is will be on us to take the game to them and create something, because that's the way Dean Smith always wants us to play. I think it will be tight, often these kind of finals are decided by who handles the occasion the best, whose big players really turn up.
  2. Pretty sure it was Andy Hinchcliffe, no idea what his problem is with Villa is though?!
  3. Credit to the Baggies they were very organised and made life very difficult for us, we shot ourselves in the foot by giving them two early goals over the two legs, it allowed them to be negative and defend so deep. One thing I'm very pleased about is that even in such a hostile atmosphere, with all the pressure we still tried to play good football, we didn't resort to long balls and desperation, something Hinchcliffe on commentary was imploring us to do, that would of played straight in to their hands. I think the occasion got to both teams a little, they seemed to panic whenever they got into the final third and only really looked dangerous from set pieces, we seemed to want to take an extra touch too often, or play an extra pass.
  4. Hello, I'm William, lifelong Villa fan, from a family of Villa fans and now I've started my own family I'm hoping my children will befall the same fate... (poor souls!). Had a season ticket back in the day, but I've mainly been restricted to an armchair fan in recent years for obvious reasons (the family, not because we've been rubbish...). First Villa memory was going to see us play Forest with my Dad, sat in the Trinity Road and was all kinds of confused at the guy next to me shouting at somebody called 'Sticks', turns out it was Ian Ormondroyd who had wronged him. We won, 2-0, Olney and Platt with the goals, I was hooked. I'm an avid watcher and follower of most sports, golf, cricket, NFL, Baseball, I'll watch anything. I also look out for A.C. Milan and Torino results in Serie A, I watched way too much Football Italia growing up. Anything else feel free to ask! William UTV
