Agreed on your first paragraph. Those who can't keep up must be sold on for the good of the club,their is no room for sentiment your right. The Youngster I'm afraid are proving themselves at a far better rate than the likes of Ghazi, Wesley, Conor, Davis, Guilbert, Trezegeut. Now some are out on loan but some are still at the club because of injury. Thing is when they have played it hasn't been the best from those players mentioned but then Smith goes puts the likes of Ramsey, Bidace, Chuk and more on and the results on field are brilliant and mouth watering and those Youth are looking like they belong in the team. I think it sobvious that if first eleven players goes down that were mixing in Youth this season and it's working which is fantastic That in turn tells me that some of the seniors who have fallen through the cracks are all but done at Villa and its going to be hard to return for them.

I agree with what you say Peter. With first eleven and Youth now coming in and alot of them ruling the field when they do and behaving like first Eleven I am struggling to see where Ghazi, Davis and Trezegeut fit in now, same with Conor and Wesley. Maybe we will try push the other on loan like we have done conor and Wesley and agree a price down the line even if its something back it's better than nothing isnt it?

If a good enough offer came in for Davis, Ghazi and for Trez if he were fit that is and healthy then I would sell in January. With how Youth have been playing I just can't see them getting game time regular. Smith seems to be trusting Youth alot more this season. Youth are showing Smith that they can just jump in and do a Job next to the first eleven. They cant be trusted to not go missing for most the game those three mentioned above who are capable of moments of brilliant here and there, I would sooner we find players who can put a shift in nearly every time they do lace there boots up. There is no harm waiting though if it comes to not selling January it's not like we strapped for cash and maybe your right that abit of depth is still needed especially considering how bad our Injuries have been already this season.

Watkins won't go Arsenal I don't think, I'd think if anyone of them he fits the spurs plan most of all out of the so called big five.

Last season it was alot of him banging in alot of our goals, this season there are more scorers all over the team and I am fine with it. Watkins does a grand job without scoring that so long as were getting goals from other areas then the team is doing there job.

Each season is a new challenge, when the opposition updates there systems and tactics it's like a new wave of students coming to university each year and you don't know there faces. It all takes time to remember and learn what everyone does and is capable of. Your never going to get everything perfect but Smith does learn over time he has proved that time and time again. He's adapted so many crap game plans from kick off and pulled wins out of nothing and he's also lost vital ones that looked easy for us to pick up points from. It's those losses that he will get the most experience from and understand how to stop it, he will tinker his systems. Very good manager capable of taking us much further when your beating top teams each season. We just have to not drop the ball against the teams at the bottom. I struggle to see how anyone could have any problem with Dean, he's been our best manager ever I think. Yes i know he's not won the league or trophies yet but he will if were patient with him. I still say hes our version of fergie minute the boot throwing. Smith could be big, he could be the man England call on down the line but I honestly think he will be at Villa for some time yet and his progress levels each season and achievements in records broke are kind of insane.

I am not sure there are any Smith haters. You don't need to be a hater just because you hand out criticism to someone. I think everyone enjoys something about what Smith has put into Villa. It really does show that there is a plan and it is working as a progressive long plan.

I think you are completely taking my words and shuffling them up into your own story. No where did I say we didn't try, we did because we gave Chelsea a heck of a game. I said that if we would of wanted to of won the game we would of fielded our strongest 11, completely different. All the things you mentioned in your post I have not said a thing about so I don't see why your trying to create something out of nothing. The most you got right about what I said is the number 11. I do agree with you that if we constantly field a first 11 they will be burnt out fast, I myself expressed that last season. So yes I agree we need to swap and change so the main eleven can regain there energy and feel more fresh. However though I do believe there are times to do that and times not to change. Tonight was the night that if we wanted to proceed while Chelsea fielded a weaker side that we should of fielded our best. The un-winnable games, the games were unlikely to get a win from maybe is a place to say look let's use this time to get some experience to our Youth or to refresh the first eleven players because a game shortly after will be winnable. I suppose there are alot of ways to play it out, I am not Dean Smith and neither are any of us. If the carabao cup was that important we would of gone all out for it but it was a clear risk fielding the team we fielded and while they played amazing we lost and we have to say fair enough. It's over now that cups gone, now we concentrate on the league and gaining a strong positioning at the end of the season. I am not slating Smith for fielding the team he did, it's down to him and the people who work beside him. They went all out for it against Chelsea and they thought they could win and nearly did and I couldn't ask for more. I just believe that capturing or trying our hardest to capture that trophy would of done us a world of good, but I'd still rather us go for a strong league finish over it and aim for europe.

As much as I'd of loved us to try for the carabao cup we have to in reality concentrate on a strong finish in the league. It is what it is, we lost out by penalty and Chelsea struggled even with Lukakku coming on. It also showed how desperate they were in the end that they had to bring him on, they were desperate for the win in the end. I don't blame anyone tonight and really we can't when we didn't field our strongest team. It was obvious we went that bothered about winning it or wed have fielded our best that was available. I don't know why some are trying to make Smith or others into the bad guy, again if we wanted to of won it we would of put on our strongest team.

The carabao cup would be an excellent trophy to have and I say it that it's a signal by claiming it this season. Personally I don't think were ready for europe so why not capture it and go full strength team. Just reading from Chelsea fans and they think they may be fielding the B team including Barkley.

Wait till you have had 17 years of it, you won't be thinking the same then, that negativity will soon be with you It has been a joy but being a single parent hasn't been without its challenges it's been very tough at times, I think the reward comes in for me now seeing how my lad is at college and seeing what he will do with his life. You may not agree with what everyone says but I suppose that's the beauty of it all here or any other place. We can't all agree all the time. I think we all have a different way we see the games that are being played out and it is good to share those views and see the difference in each others words. I do agree we could have easily rotted and gone to dust as a club and only been a memory in football, others clubs have not had a spot of luck we had and have gone. Being a championship club i fairly enjoyed to be fair but it isn't at the top is it? Villa being promoted with the new Owners was a wonderful sight. First season back in the top and we got in a final with City and survived just by the skin of our teeth. Even losing our captain but gaining Bailey, Ings and Buendia as with many of last years players has been a joy to see because it's a progressive experience where the better player is joining the club each season. Seeing the new staff and the affect they are having at the club is also a great feeling. Even the behind the scenes goings on you know theres lots happening and have to give credit to those responsible.
