  1. I don’t think either of them are real quality at the moment, but Targett probably has more potential for improvement. However Taylor is generally more solid as a defender. Despite his attacking play bring poor, he does take up good positions. The problem is he doesn’t seem to know what to do when he gets there and his crossing is rubbish.
  2. I wouldn’t sell Taylor as that would leave us with only 1 left back and very thin in the scapegoat department. Especially with Wesley out now.
  3. Was he driving around Walsall or BMH?
  4. I’m not sure you understood my post. Never mind.
  5. I think that there is an element of rigidity at the club right now. Recruitment wise we seem to have been a bit stuck with buying for the future. In style of play we are trying to implement a style that runs throughout the club. Both are laudable long term aims, but we mustn’t ignore the hear and now whilst we are trying to get there. Most people have recognised that building a squad will require patience, so the powers that be need to recognise that building a culture will also take patience and time. It almost feels that there’s a sort of puritanical dogma behind the scenes. Perhaps recent links to more experienced players and a change of set up in the Burnley game indicates that they may have realised this. As usual it’s a matter of balance.
  6. Sounds like Marvelous is only a foul or two away from us playing with 10 anyway.
  7. Shhhh don’t let on we’ll never sell him!
  8. Don’t put too much pressure on the lad. A goal and two assists will be more than enough on his debut to stop him being written off on here. Provided he tracks back and clears one off the line of course.
  9. That’s a fair Few’s games, but not terrible I guess. I doubt we’ll buy a GK especially as we’ve recalled the lad from Livingstone. I think we may even take the view that we can use the none spending on a GK as an example of prudent spending with regards to FFP. Then spend £50m + on a striker and winger
  10. How far is Steer away from being back?
  11. Those shots he saved were good, we could all see that. I’m not saying he’s going to be great based on that single game, but he played well and made good saves. As it happens I thought Kodja played well too and I’m not knocking him for that game. I just think judging outfield players against talented but inexperienced opposition is different when judging goal keepers. The Liverpool coaching staff even thanked us for the way in which we approached the game. Probably meaning we didn’t bully them or rough them up. There is a difference.
  12. That’s not really a fair comparison. Nyland was excellent in that game the saves he made had no relevance on who made the shot. Whereas playing well against young outfield players is different. Physicality and experience play a massive part.
  13. I doubt we’re selling any keepers in January now.
  14. If we get Burnley in the next round of the FA Cup we should re-sign Alan Hutton to “demonstrate” to them exactly how we feel about their disgraceful tactics.
  15. Kodj could be useful perhaps as a makeweight in a deal for someone like Bowen. Ok we might not get much for him, but we could sell the deal as an instant fix for losing their striker plus a pile of money to add further to their squad. There is also this kid at Small Heath that seems to be rated, we could swap Kodj plus a few Green Shield stamps for him. Kodj could help them with their rapidly developing bid for relegation. SHA the gift that keeps on giving.
  16. Ah well, we can convert him once he’s signed for us. Imagine how many bones his Dad might break when he scores his first goal for us? We may have to strap him down in his seat to protect him from himself.
