  1. Progress in this competition will stand us in good stead for next season’s CL. We don’t just want to qualify and get knocked out early.
  2. They breaks yer heart…….mate……………..
  3. We can’t expect any easy games at this stage of the season in any competition. UTV!!!!!!!!!! Keep faith in the Sultan of Unai, we’ll come through this test no matter how hard it is! UTV!!!!!! It’s getting exciting isn’t it? along with nerve racking too!!
  4. Universal credit you’re more likely to find in Bradford!
  5. Yep. As a former Pype Hayes boy I’d confirm that. Then of course there’s Kingstanding room only. Anywhere in north Birmingham is Villa land! UTV!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Paul Merde our former midfielder you mean????
  7. Which is one of the reasons why the future isn’t in bums on seat, it’s all about selling the club to the world not to a few thousand locals. People live their lives on the sofa these days, everything is available on line now, that’s just the way it is and NSWE are savvy enough to realise this. Covid proved that fans at grounds are no longer necessary to keep the money rolling. We need to get ahead of the game not stuck in the mud of the 1970s/80s. Before moving away from Brum I had a season ticket, so I don’t get to games very often now and so I’m probably less bothered about the subject than I was. Ok my situation is not necessarily the same as those who do live within reasonable traveling distance of B6 but the world has changed since I saw my first game at Villa Park when we were a third division club but it has definitely changed a lot and continues to change, with or without my permission. The future isn’t the same as anyone can reliably predict either now or what we thought 20 years ago. So I’m not claiming any wise vision of the future but spending millions or billions of pounds on bricks and mortar infrastructure, I would guess isn’t likely to happen. There has to be a better way and hopefully the decision makers at the club make the right decisions or we could suffer for a long time in the future. I’m reasonably confident that the digns seem right at this important point in our history. At least we’ve stopped appointing rubbish people to run the playing side, which I’d like to think will always remain important no matter what the future holds for us. Aston Villa Football Club will remain a football club for another thousand years. By which time we may have even won the FA Cup again!! Fingers crossed UTV!!!!!
  8. £200k for a house in Aston? You’ve got to be kidding! Besides I don’t think the future for increased revenues is bums on seats, it’s all about TV and sponsorship deals which can be increased globally, which is why our new partnership with Artairos is happening I assume.
  9. I’m sure you understand what I’m aluring to my old pal. I completely understand and agree that people will complain after a poor performance of any kind but for me there are limits and a modicum of support should be aforded, after all it’s a unique form of entertainment and our support is all we have to contribute, since I doubt many of us, me definitely, aren’t good enough to put on a pair of boots,! Apologies to anyone offended, who could do a job for us when called upon. I’m not sure I have the energy to run the length of the tunnel these days myself!!
  10. I think you’ve been reading the “Slippy G Psycology guide to football management” and putting too much store into it. I’m not sure it works particularly well!! UTV
  11. let’s round it up to 100 by the end of the month! Or even the week ! Nice to see someone taking the positives, in this otherwise sea of misery, which we’ve come to expect in this place after any backward step. Yes from 2-0 up to going behind is disappointing but that was a game thst from there we would have lost in the past so getting a draw wasn’t as bad as it might have been. A good performance and result on Thursday will lift spirits once more. For Villa fans anyway. I’m old fashioned from the Ron Saunders era of , “would you bet against us ?” sadly there aren’t many of us in here anymore, the depression if everything isn’t perfect straight away, generation have taken over now, sadly.
  12. Yeah we could get at least a couple back, not sure about 3 though.
  13. You might be right but the people who administer the PL tend to favour teams in red, often in the same part of the country though………
  14. I’m not saying you’re wrong but I am an eternal optimist so I’ve got my fingers and everything else crossed while staying realistic. I’ve been pleasantly surprised plenty of times before, including for the reverse fixture. As others have mentioned Pepe losing it with Joe, show’s he’s losing it a bit and public fall outs are never good for a team, not a thing you’d see from a top manager, Saunders kept it all behind closed doors when the bollockings were handed out, perhaps Pep has lost his cheque book?
  15. No questioning your commitment!! UTV!!!!!!!!
  16. Glad to se you’re fully embracing the possitives and not just sinking into deep and depressing thoughts. It’ll be tough no doubt but let’s not raise the white flag before a ball has been kicked! We have an excellent manager and a decent squad who are capable of getting something out of this game if everything goes right for us. UTV!!!!
  17. I’m not so sure we can say sneak a resounding 3-0 win UTV!!
  18. Could be just you JV I haven’t managed to find a link i’m afraid. I’m not asking though obviously, I’m more than happy to follow precedings in here.
