    Also add the fact that youth was never going to get a look in, and Villa park and the Villa academy are no longer a destination for providing youth a way through to the first team. Instead, we just add over priced, over age mediocrity. This is all going down hill very fast.

    Scary when the best three wins are Leeds, Southampton and Burnley. I would have preferred Liverpool, Man U and Chelsea as per the other guy.

    Worrying. Aston Villa have lost eight of their last eleven Premier League games against Arsenal (W3), including both meetings against them last season. Those three wins all came consecutively between July 2020 and February 2021 under Dean Smith.

    Moyes makes a change at half time to affect the game, and West Ham come out a better team. Gerrard just does like-for-like changes in a system that isn't working. He is out of his depth. He really really needs to go.

    I'll take a win. Good job their keeper was crap. Poor for the corner, a very poor for the penalty. Why did we not bring the young lads on sooner? There was no need bring on Buendia and Bailey.

    Lucky to go in level at half-time. It certainly wasn't pretty. Watkins and Ings have nothing to work with.

    It's a strong line-up. I was hoping to see one or two of the youth players in there. They don't seem to get a sniff with Gerrard at the helm.

    Good player, but we should not be spending this type of money when Gerrard's job is in jeopardy. Archer should not be part of this or any other deal.

    I think you're right. Although we were having a bad run at the time, I firmly believe that he would have pulled through it and at least equaled Gerrard's 13th place. Purslow saw an opportunity, to what he believed was an upgrade, and it's coming back to bite him in the ass.

    3 Months - He's been here since November, has had two transfer periods and a pre-season. We have gone backwards not forward. Initially, we just looked poor against the better teams under Gerrard. No we look really poor against almost everyone.
