We are the slowest team in the league. Players have no pace, opposition waltz past us every time. Takes too long for the ball to get from the back to the front. We go side-to-side at a snails pass, and by this time the opposition have eleven behind the ball. Can our players at least make a bit of effort to find space and do it quickly, we are totally reliant on individuals trying to make things happen on their own. Wait, wait, wait OK, now i'll move. No, get your arse moving earlier and want the ball. It's so frustrating. UTV

We are the slowest team I have ever seen. Players are slow, no urgency, and it takes us forever to move the ball forward. Wolves are flying around the field, and we look like we played a game yesterday. UTV

Here's why I'm not excited about this appointment: Prior to RDM, if anyone had suggested we contact Hull and ask them if we can approach Steve Bruce, we would have laughed at them. What has changed? Our vastly experienced board have taken the easy approach. Go for the guy with the so called 'experience' and 'track record'. Are you really telling me that there are no younger, more talented and ambitious managers out there? And why did we take 10 days to make this decision. Don't tell me it was due diligence. Do we think this is a long-term appointment? If not, why not? What happens when we don't get out of this division this season. He is tainted with a Blue brush. Like it or not, we have that to deal with every time we deal with our Bluenose friends and colleagues. I really, really hope I'm wrong. I hope they have a Plan B ready and waiting. I'd also like to know who else was interviewed or on the list. UTV

If we assume that if making the playoffs from our current position is a success. What will be considered a failure? If we finish below 10th I think the DR. has to look at things and decide what he does with Bruce next. UTV

A totally uninspiring appointment. It's a SAD SAD day when we believe our best option is a Blue nose reject. How often have you ever said to yourself 'I wish we played football like a Steve Bruce' team. Answer: Never. UTV

I don't believe the Dean Smith interest has gone away. Remember Pat Murphy said there were two incumbent managers they were interested in yesterday, and they were deciding if to contact their clubs. We don't know if this has happened yet, or is likely to happen. I suspect they still have interest otherwise why not offer it to Bruce now?

Guys, Life long Villa Fan that moved to New Jersey, USA almost fifteen years ago. Some interesting notes: As a kid my first memories are standing on the bank where the North Stand is now with my Dad. I was in the standing section in Rotterdam when we won the European cup. I caught the special from New Street. I've seen them in the old second division and third division I've also been lucky enough to play at Villa Park twice. Both times we got the home team dressing room.
