  1. So if I’m catching you right you feel FFP is advantageous for the bigger clubs? Would you prefer the Man City’s, Newcastle’s and Chelsea’s with their affluent owners to buy up all the good players available while those they can’t use farmed out on loan? I’ve noted that since the introduction of FFP more teams are closing on the top four because the Sky 4 can no longer purchase all available talent! Rogers is being purchased imo to push the wide men already at the club into better performances. Let’s face it neither Diaby, Bailey or Zaniolo have been great recently so Rogers will be chomping at the bit to take one of their places.
  2. Posting on here has turned me from an Everton/Villa to a Villa/Everton fan which has really pissed off my kin and friends.
  3. His first touch hasn’t really improved under Smith or indeed Emery which is alarming. I also still feel Emery tying him down to be in and around the box more doesn’t really benefit the team or the player. Watkins previously made a lot of runs in behind teams on the flanks which gave Villa’s midfielders more to hit. Now he is too easily marked being a lot more static through the middle. This has certainly contributed to Villa’s lack of goals recently imo.
  4. Phillips to West Ham seems done. Fantastic loan signing for them.
  5. Whatever Villa offered for Rodgers was already too much. Villa already have better at the club!
  6. Currently I don’t feel Villa have a good enough squad to claim a CL place. It’s therefore so important for Villa to strengthen this month!
  7. This basically. Reason why I wanted Phillips to push Kamara so he doesn’t feel his place in the team is secure and indeed likewise with Cash. Villa are also far stronger through the middle with Konsa at CB!
  8. Hackney would be the only player I’d want from Boro.
  9. Made of glass and not strong enough for the rigours of the Premiership.
  10. Heard it all now. Pep a chequebook manager. . I suppose Ferguson was too. The level of delusion on here is something else. Love it.
  11. Few mistakes if we’re being honest and Phillips has had two world class defensive midfielders in front of him. Then consider recent sales from City. Good players sold at decent prices due to FFP.
  12. Not really. He’s had probably the two best DMs in front of him both of whom world class players.
  13. To cover for or give a rest to Kamara. I didn’t say Phillips was creative. Phillips is more than a clogger though but then again you knew that.
  14. Both are too similar and lack creativity.
  15. Doesn’t improve Villa’s first team in any way. For me the best loan deal this window is Kalvin Phillips and Villa should be thumping City’s door to get him.
  16. Probably one to keep at the end of the season. Was excellent today.
  17. After reading people’s views on recent games it really doesn’t wash continually blaming the ref or missing players. Both Luiz and Kamara were playing today plus Lenglet whom was arguably Villa’s best player imo. Yet today’s game was a repeat of performances in recent weeks which have been a struggle. For example restricting Watkins to a box striker rather than running behind the opponents on the flanks has nullified Watkins somewhat. Movement up front is currently minimal with Diaby’s form dropping off a cliff while Bailey has been inconsistent! Static forwards equates to being marked too easily while the midfield has very little to hit other than sideway passes. In summary Villa’s play is too predictable and I feel a defeat is coming probably against Newcastle.
