It's brilliant because a few years ago I was telling people who support other teams that Grealish would be a star, an international and one of the best. I got laughed at every single time... I've had more than 1 come to me in the last 6 months and say 'you were right about grealish'. Love the bloke massive man crush and he's still improving.

I think yes and no. The new signings have made a huge difference obviously. But it's the things they bring, the huge workrate with added quality. Fans react to what you do on the pitch, particularly at VP I find, and VP would've loved the workrate and fight the players have shown win or lose IMO. They have shown no fear and no nerves. And this is just part of the personalities signed not just the fact that the fans aren't there. If anything, after a good result I think the players would build a rapport with the fans and increase performance levels. Also, I know it's very different, but I've played in front of a few hundred before now and I can honestly say I didn't notice them. You're so focused on what's on the pitch, everything else becomes a blur.

Great video. 2 things I really noticed. 1. How together they all are. You can see how close the players are and this is a huge thing going forwards. 2. How bloody good Ollie Watkins second goal is. From the little nod down to mcginn to the final brilliant finish. That move was all about him with a little help from a couple of friends. Just shows that we have other threats now. Not just jack. This is huge.

I may be completely wrong here as the positions aren't numbered, but whenever I've had shirts laid out for me, it's always been in order of position. What I'm getting at is, I think Martinez would be next to cash in the changing room. Either way, having good friendships all across the changing room can only be a good thing!

Thanks @Aston_Villan4 and @sne. Going by that, Elmo, Taylor and Lansbury will all leave. And, depending on what happens with guilbert, only Taylor leaving would need someone bringing in to play in that position. I think next year's priority will be LB, hopefully one good enough to see targett become back up. I also think CM will be a priority depending on what happens with Barkley and Luiz. If they both stay then we will be set in those positions. Then, it'll be strength in depth at CB and perhaps a new winger. We've obviously come a long way in 2 years, but there's still work to be done. Another question, when does hourihanes contract run too? It doesn't say on there.

Can anyone tell me where to get a list of contract expiry dates and in particular, whose contracts will expire next summer. Will be interesting, for me, to look at that squad list minus players that will be out of contract next summer. I presume we will be seeing the last of the old regime leaving and will be interesting to see what the recruitment team will be looking at for next year. We can keep an eye on who performs well this year and perhaps look at targets as the season progresses! Also, I'm going to say it now, I can seriously see us signing Barkley on a permanent next year if this loan goes well. He really seemed to be happy the other day, I've never seen the guy smile so much. Regular gametime, a bit of love from teammates and supporters and I don't think he would want to go back to being 5th choice in a Chelsea squad.

Love this guy. Been brilliant for the past 6 months and think he is a England star in the making. One of the first names on the teamsheet for me. What did we pay £12million? That is a genuine bargain. He's worth 5 times that now.

Well, after Fulham people complained about the performance. So, yet again, Dean has sent his team out to answer the questions set by the ultra critical select few villa fans. Aston villa 7-2 Liverpool. Surely, surely he must be winning over even the harshest critics? This isn't me trying to get one over on the fans who wanted him gone. I didn't want Dean Smith here in the first place. I was fantastically wrong but couldn't be more happy to be so. We are a club pulling in the right direction with nothing but positives at the moment. Incredible job done in his 2 years. Literally incredible!

I'd agree with that. But, would also add that despite if being a 'fans forum', it is visible to anyone across the planet. The Views posted in here represent the avfc fanbase. I don't enjoy reading abuse directed at players. On top of this, as it is visible to all and everyone, you cannot control if there are friends or family members reading and passing stuff on. It would be I'll advised but not entirely out the question. I've seen what this can do to people, and it's a slippery slope if you feel it's ok to post stuff like that and allow our forum to be tarnished by it.
