  1. Jack is one of few players in the squad who can think outside of the box.
  2. Come on, he is 20 years old. Which 20-year old performs consistantly? Is was the same with for example Bale and Ronaldo at that age.
  3. I was a little bit worried that he wouldn't cope the whole match, be rusty or not on par with Chester - he proved me wrong on every point, a very accomplished performance. Seems to link up well with Chester, he goes for the header, Chester mops it up. I noticed he played on the left side of Chester, when he came on for Terry, Chester switched and Samba played right didn't he. It's a bit odd that a leftie Chester playes to the right and a right footed Samba plays to the left. But it worked well, I guess it's good for the stability of the whole team if the back 4 changes as little as possible. He may seem to be clumsy at times, but at times he showes really good skills and looks a good passer as well. He is fast becoming one of my favourite players!
  4. I was about to say the same thing. Let's not rewrite history just because we are playing well at the moment. Let's enjoy how we play now, support the team and the manager 100% and keep our fingers crossed that we continue playing this way.
  5. Wonderful to see us attack, and to keep attacking after we scored! One of the better performances in a long while. Davis and Onomah seems to click, we look threatening everytime they have the ball!
  6. Fully agree! I don't approve that Jedi looses his i in Jedi :-D
  7. Really good to see Lansbury back, I think he is a very good all round player. It perhaps suits him better to play further up the field, but I think he can do a good job as a regular CM too, as long as the team isn't set up to sit back and defend.
  8. I'd say Taylor is too short to be CB, especially if playing alongside Chester. Speaking of that, where the *** is Tommy Elphick?
  9. He clearly doesn't fit in to Bruce's tactics, but I'm not too fond of the idea of flogging him and buying a target player instead to lump the ball to. Can as well keep playing Samba up top. I would love to see Hogan get a run in the team with players like Grealish and O'Hare behind him and see what he can do.
  10. If we had someone like Barry Bannan in the middle who can actually pick out a through pass when he makes his runs he could perhaps even get a shot on goal.
  11. I don't agree, I think he has been real quality for us. Does anyone know why he was taken off just before half time? He looked really angry and was throwing things when he took a seat on the bench. Just before he was taken off it looked like he was in pain when he took the ball on his chest, did he have a rib-injury before? I really hope he was taken off because of an injury. It wasn't his best game, nevertheless he was one of few who looked like he would create something and had a couple of good runs and shots as well.
  12. Damn! I shouldn't have jinxed it by saying last week I was surprised he had played every minute without getting injured... I'm not quite sure how reliable Samba is, but I'm willing to give him the chance until January, but then we should def go all out for a new CB.
  13. I remember in one of the first games he played for us he received the ball in the middle of the field and made an amazing run through the opponents midfield and defence. It looked very promising then. Since then I haven't seen anything like that from him except a half in pre season. He clearly needs games to get in to match form, but I can't really see him getting that with our style of play, Kodija and Davis...
  14. Another bit of good tasting humble pie - today he looked like the promising player Spurs thought they bought.
  15. I repeat what I have said before, he is a proper midfielder. As much as I like Jedi, you can see the difference between the two of them, Jedi is immense at winning the ball, any ball dropping in to out half he wins, but then when it comes to passing more than just a easy pass he gets exposed. Whelan is not as good in the air, but he seems to make so good decisions all the time, a very reliable and intelligent midfielder who also picks out good forward passes. It seems to be a good tactic if we want to close the games to put in Jedi behind the midfield two, letting Whelan and Hourihane play a bit further up the pitch. It's nice to see that we have plenty of options in CM now.
  16. Yes this was very good! He got both the starting line up and the subs right this time, keep it up!
  17. Has he grown taller just the last month? In the post match interview he looked a head taller than Terry!
  18. That was a top performance. I'm surprised he has been so good and that he has managed to play so many games, I hadn't expected that. The pairing with Chester looks very solid. I have to hold my hands up and admit I was wrong questioning him when we signed him. Very glad to be wrong about that!
  19. I'm very glad with that performance, especially that we didn't retreat after having scored. More of the same please!
  20. So glad to see Jedi back, he was immense yesterday. Any ball dropping into the middle of our half you can be sure that he is first on it, giving 100% in every challange. I'm not confident having him in a 4-4-2 though so I'm not sure how we best line up with him in the team...
