  1. I'd say Taylor is too short to be CB, especially if playing alongside Chester. Speaking of that, where the *** is Tommy Elphick?
  2. He clearly doesn't fit in to Bruce's tactics, but I'm not too fond of the idea of flogging him and buying a target player instead to lump the ball to. Can as well keep playing Samba up top. I would love to see Hogan get a run in the team with players like Grealish and O'Hare behind him and see what he can do.
  3. If we had someone like Barry Bannan in the middle who can actually pick out a through pass when he makes his runs he could perhaps even get a shot on goal.
  4. I don't agree, I think he has been real quality for us. Does anyone know why he was taken off just before half time? He looked really angry and was throwing things when he took a seat on the bench. Just before he was taken off it looked like he was in pain when he took the ball on his chest, did he have a rib-injury before? I really hope he was taken off because of an injury. It wasn't his best game, nevertheless he was one of few who looked like he would create something and had a couple of good runs and shots as well.
  5. Damn! I shouldn't have jinxed it by saying last week I was surprised he had played every minute without getting injured... I'm not quite sure how reliable Samba is, but I'm willing to give him the chance until January, but then we should def go all out for a new CB.
  6. I remember in one of the first games he played for us he received the ball in the middle of the field and made an amazing run through the opponents midfield and defence. It looked very promising then. Since then I haven't seen anything like that from him except a half in pre season. He clearly needs games to get in to match form, but I can't really see him getting that with our style of play, Kodija and Davis...
  7. Another bit of good tasting humble pie - today he looked like the promising player Spurs thought they bought.
  8. I repeat what I have said before, he is a proper midfielder. As much as I like Jedi, you can see the difference between the two of them, Jedi is immense at winning the ball, any ball dropping in to out half he wins, but then when it comes to passing more than just a easy pass he gets exposed. Whelan is not as good in the air, but he seems to make so good decisions all the time, a very reliable and intelligent midfielder who also picks out good forward passes. It seems to be a good tactic if we want to close the games to put in Jedi behind the midfield two, letting Whelan and Hourihane play a bit further up the pitch. It's nice to see that we have plenty of options in CM now.
  9. Yes this was very good! He got both the starting line up and the subs right this time, keep it up!
  10. Has he grown taller just the last month? In the post match interview he looked a head taller than Terry!
  11. That was a top performance. I'm surprised he has been so good and that he has managed to play so many games, I hadn't expected that. The pairing with Chester looks very solid. I have to hold my hands up and admit I was wrong questioning him when we signed him. Very glad to be wrong about that!
  12. I'm very glad with that performance, especially that we didn't retreat after having scored. More of the same please!
  13. So glad to see Jedi back, he was immense yesterday. Any ball dropping into the middle of our half you can be sure that he is first on it, giving 100% in every challange. I'm not confident having him in a 4-4-2 though so I'm not sure how we best line up with him in the team...
  14. I think blues are better than the table shows. They have some decent players well suited for the Championship, the front three with Adams, Vassell and Jota, that Ndoye in the middle and Roberts at the back for example. They are a psysical side who also can play a bit. I think many of their best players were injured at the beginning of the season and they also signed quite many players who need to glue. Given that team, that it was an away fixture in the most hostile atmosphere you can get, where all supporters stood up the whole game, I think one point isn't that bad. Regardless of this, I'm not happy to see that we sit back and defend and have as our only attacking tactic to hit a long 50/50 ball and hope for some magic from Kodija or Snodgrass. We are better than that. We should play on the front foot for the most part of the games and should be the team that dictates the play. Our squad and our players are good enough for that.
  15. Does anyone know if they will put up a match re-run on the homepage and if so when they will do it?
  16. I have quite much sympathie for him after we put him in the bomb squad. And I like his attitude. But he is still a limited player, in the first minutes against Wolves he had a couple of horror passes where instead of making us move forward, he gifted Wolves two dangerous chances. Then in the following minute he caused a stupid free kick that almost led to a goal, that kind of set the tone and summed him up. Yes he had one or two trade mark runs which were fun to watch and he made a last ditch tackle at one point, so he clearly has moments of brilliance. But it doens't compensate the fact that he is a limited fotballer who is partly at fault to why we don't win possession or play any good football, simply because he is not very good at playing football. Thanks for your good attitude and hard work, but you can leave for a free in the January transfer window (and you can take Gabby, Richards and the manager with you).
  17. Great result! We looked well balanced and was a threat with 2 strikers and 3 of 4 midfielders going forward wanting to score. Just wish we would have been set up and played like this from the beginning of the season. I thought Snodgrass was immense, had a role in all goals didn't he?
  18. I don't know if it is a coincidence that he says that we will be looking to play more expansive football days after we had the lowest attendences for many years?
  19. Putting the sarcasm aside, I think you are right in that it hasn't worked too well. I think it has been confusing with the different systems that Bruce has tried, and by the look of it on the pitch, in the majority of the games the players seems to have thought the same. Anyhow, as I said I'm glad we will play more expansive and I'm looking forward to that.
  20. To me it still doesn't add up, if one of those aren't available, will he then revert to the old sitting-back tactics or will he keep the expansive 4-4-2? (By the way I still find it hard to accept that 4-4-2 is considered to be an attacking formation. In my world that is the basic formation. Three up front - and then I'm not talking about playing wing backs as forwards - is an attacking formation to me)
  21. It's really good to hear that we will play more expansive and with two strikers. However what he says just puzzels me. If he wants to play 4-4-2, why did we use the whole pre season to work on a 4-4-1-1? And how come that he now thinks that the squad is capable of playing 4-4-2 and more expansive, compared to a month ago?
