  1. I've googled the list that alleges who the eight are. Won't post it here. (edit --- and won't PM anyone it if asked who it is in case it's dodgy legally to do that, in case it's bull too and high chance it is). Obviously it's speculation but IF that list turns out to be true it's pretty damning for the current premier league in terms of the potential for heads to roll during a season. Who knows. IF the list is true I'm not surprised by a couple but highly surprised by some. The game is in a sorry state. When they said '8 managers current and former' did they mean they had these 8 on film? Or just "evidence" on the 8? Because as time goes on and they drip feed their snippets, some when revealed will shock the game a little.
  2. Hi Ginko. I started a new one. Picked Alex's favourite team as Arsenal. Getting by on semi pro mode. May up it, but I really struggle on professional. I see what you mean about the changing room scenes etc. But whoa whoa whoa hang on a minute. Making my villa debut away at Fulham and the starting line up is Steer bennett lescott baker hutton sellars Gardner jedinak adama hepburn-Murphy agbonlahor hang on a minute. So they've put Jedinak in but why why why do we still have Lescott. Surely it would have made sense to cut the final game to disk after the window closed. When I put the disk in it did do some 600 meg install but how have they left us with lescott etc. I'm not asking you personally wow just disappointed. Still though, loving the game. I thought they'd have been 100 per cent up to date though! I understand the scale of distributing millions of copies for a late sept release so hopefully they update this via a patch. I mean it's only a game but I was so glad to be rid of lescott and here he is back at villa .... Sort it EA!!!! Where are our signings!?
  3. Ginko & Wainy, Yeah i played for ages and it flew by too. i didnt even play any of the old-modes just the Journey. I thought... i;ll just click through a bit, see what it is like. Ended up same as you, about three hours in! I dont see the "answer" responses making much effect on the outcomes though that seems a bit overhyped. I picked West Ham and seemed to fly through the training sessions and onto subs bench to starting very early on, albeit on Amateur difficulty, which I upped to semi pro after. I need to learn more before getting to professional difficulty. So the West Ham one, i didnt see any option to get loaned out so might start a new one, say at Arsenal and see if the loan option comes up. I clicked on Ginko's hidden text and am disappointed then.... So, in last year's FIFA, Villa Park was drawn in, not photo realistic but they did a good job as far as games go. So they've scrapped that and replaced our stadium with a stock lower league one then? That's disappointing, if last year they'd bother to recreate the stadium. Since Harry Kane and some others are written in and recognised as "cast" members i get the feeling if i sign for Arsenal, they'll prob sign Kane too! might be wrong. still though its very very good. I read about the PES version and am tempted by that too. Havent bought a PES since about 2002 though it has been that long ago.
  4. I have to say I'm loving The Journey, it's different, not quite an rpg but a welcome addition. Not sure yet if it's going to be a fad. Its a shame were not in the Prem. I picked arsenal as fav club, was a toss up between them and Spurs. I thought it'd be like be a pro mode where you pick, and that's who you're with. So when it came to the offer screen they said bear in mind you'll get more game time elsewhere. So I picked West Ham, 2 prem matches in, I've upped the difficulty and west game just signed Harry Kane w t f. Still though, for 40 ish quid I'll get a years play. Good value. For anyone who hasn't bought it yet it's £38 in morrisons. Still though I'm giving it a 9 out of ten well worth the money even if The Journey wears off as a novelty. Edit- it's v premier league focussed in some way. Hence picking arsenal and west game for Alex hunter. Naturally my profile is pure villa, for the record.
  5. I'll admit this, but feel awkward saying it. I can't think of a better word but I'm "enjoying" seeing these names come out, that they've been caught out like this. I'm not an anarchist but what goes around comes around for some, not often enough. We're talking bribery / corruption / abusing power & positions... coming back to bite some people. I'm not shocked much but some of the allegations made by the telegraph that haven't had names attributed to the claims yet are shocking. As well as those that have. As for Black I'm not surprised one bit. probably got a couple of shredders on the go right now.
  6. i get the feeling yorue not joking despite the bbc website still showing 0-1
  7. What does this picture say? It says: RDM- 'Ummmmmmm, hmmmmmmnnnn I should ermmmmmmmmmmm' Terry- 'let's switch back to 442 diamond, you stay back, guard the back four, he goes up shadow striker' Cahill- 'Derp?'
  8. The thing is, the Independent will have reached a point when they're happy with a lot of material gathered to go public. As in going public forces guilty figures to start to wise up and become protective. So when you look at it, the Independent can really go to town now with their findings, him being the first but a pretty shocking stage 1. In addition to this, the redtop tabloids will also "do their bit" now, which will be to ride the crest of the wave by picking at the bones like a vulture swooping down to nuzzle in on the carcass. With that in mind, a multi pronged attack this will be now on Allardyce and many dodgy figures for weeks to come, months even. Those themselves who have stuff to hide will be panicking a little. Some busy solicitors tonight for sure. In my years, I remember certain things with George Graham or Terry Venables, but this, so swiftly handled... so damning... just wow. I have very little respect for the FA at all but they have just earned a slight bit in the right direction by their ruthlessness, despite it being the right thing to do. I also think, why appoint this man in the first place? Of all the managers of his type, why him. Nevermind. I normally wouldn't be happy at some poor sod losing his job but in this case I will make an exception. Lads, imagine your dream job, and that you had a chance to do it. Would you risk ______ it up so soon after taking it, well theoretically throughout your whole initial time in it? Moonlighting with shady dodgy deals? Or would you just work your arse off doing your dream job, earn your 3-4m which apparently is the highest paid national manager salary in the world? Maybe Fat Sam will get another job one day as manager. But that chairman must either be one of them forgiving Christian types or a corrupt so and so himself because hereon Fat Sam... your legacy on the world of football management is absolutely tainted with a haunting of repeated money grabbing corruption and arrogance. Sure he is not the only one, but come on....... England manager, acting that way whilst in post? Legacy.
  9. I posted a rant earlier. But summary... The greed of whoring himself like that for that amount so freely, the irresponsibility of acting that way as England manager and the sheer arrogance of it all. Bye F-cko !
  10. What the. i just read this and googled it as it looked like you were serious. And you are. I think I have lived a sheltered existence I have never ever heard this until this thread. So that's what black velvet is eh. Well thanks. Unless it tastes like crap. Guinness in wine eh. If I had time I would post a head f--- gif, imagine one instead.
  11. I’m not surprised by any of this. I watched the BBC’s expose on the corruption in football a few years ago and he was prominent in that. He, recorded on film, his son and his chairman all in on the act. Those claims related to bungs and transfer rigging with agents. This was the same documentary that cast a shadow over our own Kevin Bond by the way. You can still see this expose Panorama on Youtube, BBC corruption in football, around 2006 ish I think. Anyway, so all that original expose journalism sort of got defeated. He got bad press out of it, that is all. He must have had good legal representation as the things he said on film were pretty damning, and very corrupt. The fact he would do that so openly with strangers (even if he believes their bluff on who they are) then he is just about the money, legal and illegal. It’s so bent. So here we are gain. The Telegraph, they’re not synonymous with regular stings and setups the way the redtops are like recently with the Mirror using rent boys to setup a sting on that MP Keith Vaz. This apparently has come from a wide angled investigation on dodgy dealings and this is a relevant quote: “The Telegraph began investigating corruption in English football last year after receiving information that specific managers, officials and agents were giving or receiving cash payments to secure player transfers” and taken from (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/09/26/exclusive-investigation-england-manager-sam-allardyce-for-sale/ ). Afterall, if even bringing Allardyce in , named in your investigation, you must have to know there is good substance to go with as what happened with the BBC’s half baked attempt which while it did shine a spotlight on it, the batteries quickly ran out on that torch. So from that link, does it mean that Allardyce’s name has come up repeatedly from football insiders… fellow managers, some agents, chairman etc? Must have done. Either that, or amidst their line of enquiry, they’ve picked up a trail. But let’s face it, that trail has been hot for about ten years. I have read the Telegraph article and that is truly disgraceful behaviour from someone on that amount of money being their full time job. How greedy can a man get to cross the line, risk his reputation (ahem) and integrity (ahem) for the sake of a 10% bonus on top of his annual salary. It’s a bit different from a £400,000 annual sponsorship for Pukka Pies or Dominos, going overseas to act in such a way that directly violates the code of conduct for an England official. How abusive to act like that in such a prominent high-profile role. The man is clearly out for himself. He is greedy, corrupt and hopefully gone soon. I was underwhelmed by his appointment, I don’t like his style of football and I just don’t like the man. I like him even less now. You would think there is an expected code of behaviour that an England manager would abide by, public conduct and transacting private business interests etcetc. If this is all true from the Telegraph then surely he has just earned his P45 on the grounds of Gross Misconduct and no pay off. The BBC’s investigation and the Telegraph one, there is no smoke without fire. And the Telegraph have to be sure of their facts and seem to be, especially if they have been working on this for months. FA - Do you have the cojones to pull the trigger? Eddie Howe – fancy a job mate?
  12. I've been tied up all day no access to radio , phone, tv. Saw the 1-1 score on match report. Until five mins ago I had no idea how we did. Was hoping to log on and see improvement, 3 points. But I'm reading we were poor lucky hibdered by tactics nothings changed since last match then... I can't comment otherwise. Saw nothing but disappointed to be reading this. Again.
  13. off topic for a sec, but, in opposition to thread title, Liz hurley does not in any way piss me off. incredible, even at 51. Excuse my distraction.

  16. Hi, I'm accessing this off a work PC. However, i am noticing that some of my replies are missing. I could be hallucinating, I'll check when I am back home. The posts were just updates on fixtures and results? Anyone else having this problem that their posts seem to have gone? edit- yeah for sure I have a post missing. I did a recap on results and it's not there , absolutely positive 100% I pressed submit. Not sure then if there was a gremlin, or maybe I was that very gremlin. I even went into detail on people's listed teams. Ah well apologies. Thanks BOF. It's my intention to update after fixtures unless I see someone's already done it.
  17. my birthday is same as: Lawrence Dallaglio Javier Zanetti Roy Keane... and..... ... Kylie effing Jenner (fitting for the thread title)

  19. Knuckle down Jordan. There is opportunity in this midfield. The cut of the cloth from the interview a few posts up is refreshing , I hadn't seen that previously. Here I was a moment ago commenting on Grealish news story then I see that interview from a while back and think good on you. A midfield that sees Gardner and Westwood get time, will see Lyden presented with an opportunity soon enough I hope.
  20. I'm late reading this article. Agreed though throughout several posts I've read. That rag, they love to sense something and really sensationalise it as they know with a little slant, they can provoke reaction to it. They must have really loved coming across that news. This, the "paper" that highlights the flaws of footballers or celebrities yet seems to (with an agenda) champion immoral @&£?s like the kardashians... That aside, as a Villa fan, it's not nice seeing a player linked to a negative press story. Whatever the story is, it's out there and he's linked to it. I am disappointed in Jack as it brings a spotlight onto him again, and a discussion about professionalism. He's a local lad, forging out a career that is the ultimate for any of us, he could be a real home town hero and role model for young kids wanting to make it in the game. i don't want to keep seeing him under investigation by the club, internal matters and so on. There's no doubt he is immature or the company he keeps especially so. Sure, he is young and allowed to have fun. But what is he now, 21? Sort your private life out son, and by that I mean stay in the news for all of the right reasons. Knuckle down and chip in this season, we really need your type of flair, your type of player. Theres a bit of the Gazzas to Jack which we will have to accept. but at the same time, he needs to understand that some media types are just waiting for his next slip up or somethingg they can mound into one. He won't like seeing his name dragged through the press but it's what comes after that counts now. We're having a crap season on the back of one of our crappest and need all of our players committed and up for it. this whole thing could be a lot lot worse. He needs a good old fashioned club mentor to see him straight, some hairdryer treatment and he will be right. Let's move on.
  21. hi guys for anyone that hasnt ordered yet, i found Tesco doing it for 42. also on their site, is a £5 off code on any £40 spent... so i'll do mine through them for £37 and pick up on release day. The Journey mode looks glossy hopefully not a gimmick
