  1. EDIT -swearing in this clip....... NSFW or kids
  2. true. ill get there eventually. no way i'm playing any of you lot though i would be 10-0 down by half time and have to quit out myself (and claim i had a power cut) !
  3. All these puns... we should at yeast try to get back on topic.
  4. it's been a while since I have clicked into this thread. i'll add another. Hipsters. I get it, fashions come and go. Why does this one stay? You mention that guy with the guitar there, who I haven't seen. He could be hugely talented and his music could be a gift to you as you pass. But no. Like I would have done, you walked past thinking what a nob. Did he have skinny jeans on and a baseball cap on th wrong way by any chance? It's a free country and all but most likely he was attention seeking, either that or his mom kicked him outside because she was fed up of that song, same old sh-- since she bought him that guitar years ago, the one he repeatedly plays non stop. Proper try hard, which brings me to hipsters. WHat's with this try hard sh--. I get it, you want to peacock, look cool, follow fashion etc. But that;s what it is , a fashion. these types think they're so independent and non-conformist yet paradoxically are all as conveyor belt as anyone else following a trend. I know a hipster, not a friend, someone that's on my quiz team... always turns up in these skinny f----- jeans that he's always pulling up and readjusting and Converse type trainers, always with a baseball cap on BACKWARDS w t f. Wears it indoors too I could write a chapter on hipsters. sorry if you are a hipster, I mean no offence. the thread is things that p--- you off that shouldn't... I shouldn't get p------ off by what someone else is wearing, nor should I notice.... but this hipster sh-- stands out a mile and yeah I may be a judgemental fool who thinks you dress like a g1mp but so do half the other people that walk past. sort yourself out man.
  5. @abdomlahor I play some games online, but haven't played fifa online for years. When I did, constantly I would get people quitting out half way through or when they were losing even if 1-0 down n 60 mins. does that sort of stuff still happen much?
  6. looking at odds on the net, no interest in betting, just to have a look at the bookie's markets to see who they think is in the frame. top 3: Bruce Dean Smith David Wagner Before RDM got sacked, I was championing Rowett and Hughton, but they're not featured highly. I can see that the obvious option is BRuce and seeing a lot of support on here for him. Wasn't that keen on Bruce a few days ago, warming to it now... I really hope though that whoever we get as manager that they aren't facing any Telegraph scandals. We are a laughing stock at the moment I wouldn't want us facing further embarrassment and disruption. I'm not saying any of the above are at all, it's a slightly awkward time to be looking for managers with some facing a sh--storm but surely the club would have ways of inside-industry fact gathering on that sort of stuff. That nonsense aside, if it was Bruce appointed I could get with that. Not my favourite choice but these are desperate times. I hope we don't weigh up someones convenience factor as a big determinant on their suitability. That Bruce is available now, lives locally.... that's all well and good but I think we can do better to be honest. Money isn't an issue to pay someone out of their contract, entice them to relocate here etc. Like I say though the tiny disappointment I would have with a Bruce appointment would dissipate quickly if the points came in though. I wouldn't get on his back if we didn't go up so long as we imprve and give it all, tjat he gets the best or better from the players. Afterall, RDM has in a way, handicapped our progress this season. Nearly a quarter of the season gone and all. Onwards and upwards.
  7. yeah disappointing that other modes aside from the journey have the updated squads. agreed above, I got loaned out to villa.... who have kodjia and ayew but choose Hepburn-murphy every time. it was unbearable. and the ones we ve sold being there still. arsenal recalled me in January so I didngte too many games at villa that nob danny Williams though when they brought him on, that tended to help also, annoying is that mr nice guy Toro and "the French guy" never get written in to play. theyre just like two kinda 'dressing room g1mps' why do I get the feeling that there'll be a scene where jim hunter dies and alex has to score in memorium or something some of the cut scenes are so cheesy but I am loving this story mode, a football game could have done with this years ago put it this way, apart from the Chelsea united match it made me play after install, I have NOT even played a non Journey mode game yet. p-sses me off reading this that two people now are "world class" I need lessons or something. heres me stuck on professional. I must be gametarded at learning the controls im hving trouble deciding if F1 2016 or FIFA at the mo. gaming time is good and this is pre FM release.
  8. in a non ghey way we should "get a room." big tv popcorn I get the remote though
  9. Good analysis fella. I'd hardly call myself a film buff but have had an interest in films for years beynd watching them. Have a screenwriter in our family too. I wish I could go back in time and study media with screenwriting. Cest la vie
  10. its not for everyone, but if you like a bit of I dunno, sort of Being John Malkovic style... then go for The Lobster. I was entertaining a few months ago, and my mate picked it because she likes Colin Farrell... being the nice guy I thought fk, two hours of some sh--. but within minutes I thought damn this is good. surreal. dark. dry. original. weird. entertaining. I know this description will put people off and it makes it sound like a love story but: sort of dystopian land, order of the system is that people who have been single for some time are sent to a hotel. aftter a few weeks if they haven't found love, they are turned into the animal of their choosing. that's sort of the premise, avoiding that outcome. I wont say more as I think ive lost you already. me, I give it an 8. don't know if it has been mentioned on this thread before. The Lobster. watch it. but don't watch it if you dontlike something a bit different, or straight weird.
  11. told you mate, I recommend films to people down here and no one has heard of the bottom 3 on that list.
  12. which one mate. the one where he has sonny "in his hand"? by any chance? that film. just.... magic. some of the dialog is entirely improvised too# edit just read Xela's post. that scene is amazing. just from the off YEAH IT WAS ME you cant beat a bit of paddy
  13. I agree on all counts. Still though, you'd be surprised. They will learn.
  14. that merc is a fine motor, but it doesn't have a plaster on the back like my villa tank not sure why pics different size
  15. Since TV has been a let down, have begun (again) the boxset of UTOPIA. one of the best things I have ever seen on TV.
  16. A glance across at my stack and i'll throw these out as a few. You've all most likely seen them but the ones underlined you may not have. If you haven't, hire/ get. I say this as when I recommend films to people nobody has ever heard of Dead Man's Shoes... which is a sin. Amelie A clockwork Orange Let The Right One In The Godfather The Shawshank Redemption The Usual Suspects Pulp Fiction Full Metal Jacket The Revenant Heat Platoon Shutter Island Donnie Darko Dead Mans Shoes Kill List Oldboy
  17. I don't know much about him but down this way know two people at work who think he's the best thing since sliced bread. There was mocking from some Bristol City fans (about Kodjia) which we didn't get at the time, but they got a fat cheque and this fella brought in Abraham on loan from Chelsea who has scored 14 already... Oh and he smacked our arses for 3 points... Statistically better this season than RDM then.

    Drugs

I haven't contributed to this thread at all previously but as it has popped up at the top of Off Topic then i'll give my account. I'll probably get ripped apart for my opinion, but I will say it. I say the following respectfully and non-judgementally. I do agree in some ways that certain drugs are relatively harmless but for recreational use, repeatedly they become a problem. Short term becomes medium then long term use. Long term use absolutely leads to medical issues. I don't just mean risk of lung cancer from weed smoking, nothing that obvious... i mean particularly with behavioural impacts and almost a modified hardwiring of the mind and it's reward system. This hardwiring affects choices, appropriate prioritisation... can adversely have life impacts upon relationships, family ties, work commitment, aspiration... That is my opinion. I can offer the above as a generalisation. I realise it wont be the case for some but for most, there comes a time when people think enough is enough. Despite how good it is, or how used to it you are. What experience gives me that insight? I am 38 and for exactly half of my life up until the turn of this year I had been a hard user of substances (but never heroin). It started with weed, (remained throughout with weed) but on and off in accompaniment moved in various directions such as acid, mushrooms, speed, coke. A lot of illegal, but also legal controlled substances which I had access to in crazy abundance without any scrutiny such as Ritalin, valium, diazepam. I have some truly great memories. My entire life from my 1st day at Uni has been pure Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I had always dated partners who were ok with it, whether they consumed or not, but led this double life lie of a white collar profession during the day (performed in a whiter than white way) and Hunter S Thompson shite outside of work. Things began to slip and I got found out. In the work I do, I was lucky not to be gross misconducted but many months on, I am still rebuilding the career I studied many years for (that damn near evaporated) and my professional reputation. Paradoxically I work in the healthcare profession and eventually my double life became unsustainable. I haven't posted this to be critical to anyone on here. White collar drug use is massive, yet hidden. I know of people, absolutely senior, who range in age who are so far disconnected from drug culture or reacreational use, yet have their own as they call them 'go pills' and 'no go pills' and perform immaculately in their work. I have die-hard mates that still live my old life and I don't preach to them, I respect their choices. That's what they are choices. The point of my post is to reflect my change of choice and to say for me, even though everyone is different, for me life is better with abstinence. That clarity comes from being detoxed of all substances, I mean weed alone is 1-3 months depending on the tenure of your usage. The rest is down to temptation control, willpower insistence. Then the hardwiring comes back and the choice is easy to the point it doesn't even present as an option. That's a lot of fast-forwarding there but this post is getting way too long. I'm not some preaching Christian nor have I been in some rehab course. I just learned some life lessons. Hopefully you all steer clear of that. Smoke a fat one for me though.
  19. McLeish - Lambert - Sherwood - Garde - (Black) - RDM - ?Insert name here? The above, albeit under two ownerships, shows a pattern of repeated failure. A trend. If we were to make a change, to a proven winner (a possible long termer) some, not all but some might be put off slightly by the speed at which the axe came down on RDM (if it ever does). Chopping one manager circa ten to fifteen games into a season, what if the newly appointed did worse or similar? They wouldn't be put off by the fat severance pay cheque but the best of the managers we could attract wouldn't want that on their CV. Some in football say 'you're only as good as how you performed in your last job', though clearly not entirely the case for all. Come here, be another RDM... or win everyone over, try our best to win matches and try to get up. I posted a list yesterday but looking back at it a few minutes ago, how many of them would want to come here. In an ideal world our next manager has to be not just someone like a promotion consultant SOS type like Warnock, but more so someone who builds. Like a poor man's Klopp or Wenger. I am not saying we should write off the season. It is salvageable. But if we were to change we would need just a little bit of patience for them to adjust, while we were baying for results and then shortly after hopefully it would click into place. Ideally they would bring a honeymoon period of results too. RDM didn't even give us that. In a way, as a loyal Villa fan, it feels wrong to even be discussing this while we have a manager in charge, but let's face it he has lost half the supporters, we are going backwards, the media are picking up on it too and surely it's crossing Tony's mind. What must the thoughts be in the dressing room, they came here, bought into it, you know the vision etc... And here they are left clueless without adequate tactical guidance or tactical stability, being made to look dogcrap on the pitch. RDM is no master tactician and I genuinely believe that our squad is not entirely dogcrap. There's no confidence or not enough anyway, nor knowledge of each other. Imagine the noise at the final whistle if we lost to Wolves. The gelling period is over now. So what's the problem... the management. For RDM to 'guarantee' top six, despite this atrocious state we are in, that's some brave talk but unless a miracle happens it is not likely at all. There's more chance of me pulling Jenna Coleman next week on the Titanic than there is of us finishing in the top 6 this season unless a management change happens. More brave talk is 'Champions League in five years' from Tony, but as a billionaire businessman who most likely got rich aided by decision making skills related to dealing with project plan deviances, risk management and being ruthless toward an objective, then I think it is only a matter of time before he pulls the trigger. He might lose face slightly especially as he is attempting to steer interest towards us from Asia and from afar and it is going wrong, but.... decisiveness and taking one step back to take two forward is the resolution. If that happened, I wouldn't hate RDM. He aided with the rebuild, laid a foundation. Ok, so the foundation has a lot of holes but he tried (poorly). He took on a DIY job that was too much for him. We need Hughton Construction or Rowett Construction to come in and sort it. And it would be nice to piss all over Blues too and given the connections of these two builders, it adds a little extra spice. I do like spice.
  20. World class - legendary... fair play. I find it hard to incorporate the advanced controls and fancy touches. So for me I find that I never have enough time on the ball and get closed down too quickly. Never helps that they don't include the instructions these days but theres the start menu I guess. Cant teach an old dog new tricks, or its hard to anyway. So admittedly im still on Professional mode.
  21. AND it would cause meltdown for the bluenoses, lots of crying. there haven't been enough tears in recent times for them.
  22. Hi. I’ve drawn up a list and from that a shortlist. Since I have seen Dyche mentioned, who would be damn near impossible, I’ve added some more impossibles. But after that, a few viable ones and some out of leftfield. Ambitious but virtually impossible: Roberto Mancini Sean Dyche Louis Van Gaal Guus Hiddink Slightly less impossible: Martin O’Neill Chris Coleman Andre Villas Boas Realistic: Dean SMith Steve Bruce Michael O’Neill Gary Rowett Chris Hughton Neil Warnock Glenn Hoddle Gary Neville Ryan Giggs I respect your opinions… but not for me: Sam Allardyce Steve McLaren Nigel Pearson Owen Coyle Midfielder’s final shortlist: Gary Rowett Chris Hughton Glenn Hoddle Neil Warnock Martin O Neill First of all it nearly makes me puke putting Warnock on there. I can’t stand the guy but he is a first-step stabiliser and has ability to get a team promoted, keeping them there is another matter. But a possible SOS manager. He knows tactics, even if it means playing ugly to get wins and build consistency. 5th choice. Glenn Hoddle? I couldn’t care less what the press went to town with regarding his religious beliefs at that time. I think a return to the game for him at our level would be the ideal project for him, not just with team selection, tactics and man motivation, but the whole infrastructure building. Continental thinking modern manager despite being out of the game. Out of touch, possibly. Risky. But for me, worth talking to him. For all he knows, as an England manager candidate, Southgate could get it full time. I respect Hoddle a lot, but does he have the hairdryer ability our team will often need? 4th choice Gary Rowett. Needs little explanation. He has done well with THEM on their budget with constant upheaval in the background, got on with his job and pretty well too. Annoyingly. Normally I wouldn’t want anything from THEM but he has enormous potential, knows the Championship and would (in the medium term) have more chance of going up with us, or even this season who knows? It would be sweet as hell to snatch their manager, McLeish was different, wasn’t in post at the time. I would piss myself if this ever happened from laughter. Though, he does seem loyal and might buy into the anyone-but-Villa thing if he were to leave them. Still though, he’s on my list. Joint 1st choice Chris Hughton. Brighton are in a better position than us but overall he is consistent with them, been there a while now. It would take a lot for him to come here, some would see it as a sideways step from stability into uncertainty. Very well respected manager, top guy. Knows the Championship… would take a lot of convincing. Joint 1st choice MON - yes he signed a new contract with Rep of Ireland. But sometimes in football, you hear a call and you have to take it. Whilst O Neill left the club in a sorry financial state, looking back.... who knows if it was more Lerner than him anyway... He brought some truly great times to this club. He loved this club. I think he still does. Surely, the buzz of football is felt better in club football. He made some right dodgy signings though but hey we have technical director and scouting infrastructure here that he didn't have access to. He likes the chequebook, we have a nice chequebook. He knows tactics, is a motivator of the highest calibre and him coming back here would be phenomenal. joint 1st place. Long post, but for me, if we were to move RDM on, I would like to see one of these five.
  23. That made me laugh. I forgot about the dog. Whilst being iffy in terms of its moral compass, you have to admit that is one hell of a clever dog. It doesn't fetch sticks or chew Dentistix, it's more of a fan of money laundering and tax evasion.
  24. We still have that Simone farina chap at villa don't we, wonder what he makes of all this
  25. What's worrying though is he says something like 'who gives a sh-- about that' when referring to betting on the match. With my tin hat on, there could be a lot wrong with that, whereby there's a vested interest in an outcome of a game rather than the result playing out naturally. There's the potential for that anyway, not saying that's happened.
