  1. OK doesn't make the possibly interesting criteria but sharing anyway!
  2. Not saying a similar thing would in anyway be feasible for Villa (as don't know enough about it) but for discussion purposes...
  3. From a momentum perspective it would put United 5 points behind us and may well give them the belief to catch us. If we were to lose our third home match in a row you have to wonder what it would do to our confidence. It feels a big match not to lose should we want to finish in the top 5.
  4. One thing that has not helped the atmosphere IMO in recent home games is we seemed to not be pressing with the same intensity as in previous games. It looked too easy, from my vantage point, for Newcastle and Chelsea to play the passes they wanted to. That has a negative impact on atmosphere as does going two down in the first half of games at home. The reality is if you are 2 down the away fans are likely to be jubilant and the home fans normally subdued. Although I'd love the home fans to be singing for 90 minutes regardless it just doesn't match with what happens in real life. For the Man U game Emery has highlighted the role the fans can make so I hope those going really get behind the team but likewise not conceding early and actually Villa being at it from the off will bring the fans into the game. Fingers crossed for a special Villa Park atmosphere. UTV!
  5. Bayer Leverkusen v Bayern Munich on Sky Sports Football at 5.30pm today. Real Madrid v Girona on ITV 4 also at 5.30pm today. Big games in those leagues!
  6. Yes is a bit concerning considering a lot of the twitter stuff regarding Villa injuries has turned out to be true!
  7. Fear this will end up like the Newcastle and Chelsea home matches where we only had a go when it was too late. Start Ramsey and Pau then I’ll be more confident. UTV!
  8. Thought he did OK when he came on and stretched the play a bit more and personally would like him to start the next match. We need to change things up a bit and would be pleased if he gets his chance.
  9. Fair play to him when he came on as he tried to make things happen and got himself a goal.
  10. Should be fresh for the weekend as hardly did anything!
  11. Poor marking for the second goal and looked like he could have been sent off. Not exactly impressing yet in what is a good chance for him.
  12. The defence is obviously weaker than we'd like it but that is where we are at due to the injuries we have but I think the main problem Emery needs to solve are in midfield. The balance and intensity of the midfiled in my opinion has not been right for quite a while now. Slow, slugglish and not one player in that midfield (McGinn, Luiz, Kamara or Tielemans) with a turn of pace or who runs with the ball consistantly. Hopefully Emery agrees and rectifies that and gets us playing with the intent to win at 0-0 rather than 0-3!
  13. Very poor perfornance which was far too passive and we only seemed to have a go when the game was lost which mirrored the Newcastle game. I appreciate it worked vs Man City at home but i don't like the balance of our midfield and personally would have one of Diary or Ramsey in for Tielemans. McGinn on the left looked very poor and we seemed to miss his combativeness centrally. Lots for Emery to do. UTV!
  14. Fairly similar to the Newcastle match to be honest...
  15. Yeah needs to be noisy tonight and a real hostile cup tie atmosphere hopefully. Think there we lots of goals in this one (here comes the nil nil) and hope we can use this home match to our advantage. UTV!
  16. Lots of uncertainty in that article from Matt Law: Basically - sounds as though it is still to be determined how bad or not the injury is and we should know more from Emery in the pre-match interview tomorrow...
