Plus, lets face it - the area around the ground is mostly a dump - regeneration of the immediate area would be fantastic (and possibly offer jobs to those recently made redundant), it would work the whole Villa brand and provide additional revenue streams to the club.

I would imagine / hope that if we are this fantastic club signing lots of players and trying to take the championship by storm, good players will WANT to come here, and will force the issue if the clubs are playing hardball. Imagine players WANTING to come here....

Is he going to delegate that and play at football manager for a year or two? How can a man in charge of such a large and important empire just up sticks and move to Birmingham? That said, so far, despite reservations this is looking fantastic for us. This man is clearly not stupid, he seems affable, as down to earth as someone with his money/power can be, and seems to know where all the problems are and has a plan to fix them. So, Welcome Dr Xia Jiantong, If you can deliver even half of what you are promising you will become a Villa legend

I will be in the minority here, but i thought he did pretty well at the start of the reason, then got dropped for some reason and didn't really come back until towards the end, at which point it was pretty much impossible to judge anyone given the shambles we had become. The few occasions I have seen him play he has been decent, I would give him a chance in the Championship. He does have the ability (especially at that level) he just need s to show it.
