  1. Apparently Lord Bamford of JCB and his family are the richest in Birmingham. No idea who he supports though. I'd guess Wolves looking at his companies brand colours.
  2. You'd think David Cameron might have some contacts in some high places. Or is he a West Ham fan now?
  3. Regarding the rich fans; it would be great to have people in charge that love the club but surely being a capable owner is more important? Football'a a cut-throat business that requires someone to really know what they're doing. I don't profess to know all of the ins and out of running a club but it's not going to be easy. For me the most important aspect is their ability, and their bank balance. It's not necessary that they are fans for me. Whether the combination of rich, successful business owner and villa fan exists out there though, I've no idea.
  4. I do recall watching one of the Villa YouTube channel's "players arriving" videos. As the Watford players walked through the corridors past the pictures of our glorious history on the wall, only Flores stopped to have a look at them. In fact he spent a bit of time taking them in. Ergo he's impressed by our club and will definitely want the job!
  5. I'm probably wrong but I thought that Lerner's holding company loaned the money to Villa, any debt could be written off by him? I'd hope that's the case anyway.
  6. It's okay we're used to being disappointed...
  7. Think I might have a fiver on Eric Black at 33s
  8. Riley's rarely really called Riley not Reilly.
  9. Perhaps he thinks this is part of 'going down'.
  10. I'm just glad I don't need to listen to Talksport until 11pm.
  11. Surprise surprise it's this http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/7085727/Gabby-Agbonlahor-pictured-on-laughing-gas-and-drinking-in-London-hotel-on-night-Aston-Villa-were-relegated.html Gabby Agbonlahor pictured on laughing gas and drinking in London hotel on night Aston Villa were relegated
  12. Looks like I've got to stick with Talksport til 11 now. After today, players out on the piss won't exasperate us. It's got to be something bigger.
  13. Maybe the Sun think they're going to break the news about Bernstein and King...
  14. Haha me too, even the missus has been talking about football all night. I'm getting bored of Stan now though, he's exhausting.
  15. Let's hope this is true and we have a buyer waiting to strike. One nagging fear I have is that Bernstein and King know who the buyers are and don't want anything to do with them because they're even worse than Lerner. Not likely but I don't know what to believe now.
  16. It can and will get worse, I've got no doubt about that at all. Who in their right mind, manager or player will want to touch Villa with a barge pole. I fear we'll end up with a budget made up of whatever we can sell and Eric Black in charge in our first game. Its a sad day, that follows many other sad days and precedes many mor sad days. RIP Villa
  17. As has been the case for the last few years, it matters not who the manager is. We're f***ed anyway til the owner has gone.
  18. A sale is the only way out of this gigantic mess, Randy ffs pull your finger out your arse and **** off!
  19. If Hollis was to walk and leave Lerner on his own then couldn't us Villa fans storm the Bastille and take control of the club? Lerners not gonna be within 2000 miles of Villa Park. We can't do any worse than him to be fair.
  20. I know I'm late to the party but... Jesus ***** Christ!! What the hell is going on in that retarded mans head? Just when we start to feel like things could settle, this happens. It must be something big, King wouldn't just resign like that over a minor disagreement. His letter doesn't seem to indicate that a sale is lined up right now. My bet is they put a proposal to Lerner that detailed the sweeping changes that need to be made to make us successful again and he said no, not if it involves me spending any money.
  21. Arnold Schwarzenegger? Homer Simpson?
  22. I'd be more than happy with Moyes, especially with a decent transfer kitty. There's still no guarantees, there isn't with any manager but I'd be happy with the choice. A lot of people point to his recent appointments as failures he may well also have learnt a lot from them. As long as he's still driven and hungry, I'd take him all day long.
