Even if that was true - there was multiple times we could have used both of them, so a load of rubbish IMO. As to why Sanson didn't work out here, no idea, he's clearly a capable footballer. My take is probably: Injured a lot of the time under Smith, hard to get into a proper rhythm and properly adjust to English football. Under Gerrard - the clown had no idea how to set up a midfield and Sanson wasn't one of his favourites. Steven was also petty enough to hold that bottle kick against him. Under Emery - by this point he was desperate for game time and probably low on confidence. Easy decision to loan him out and get him game time.

Indeed. Defensive/deeper players can change games too. See: Glenn Whelan coming on against Sheffield United at 0-3 down. Even though Moreno isn't your typical old school defensive full back anyway.

I doubt it, Moreno is good at going forward but he's good at doing that from fullback. But you never know.

He is yeah, but I wouldn't say he's Moreno's level. Dougie, Buendia and Moreno linking up on the left hand side was a joy to watch last season.

You reckon? Moreno can do things that Digne just can't. He can play in tight spaces, can beat players without needing a load of space in behind and his cutbacks are just deadly. He gives our attack a whole 'nother dimension. And I agree that Digne's been good, he's a likeable guy as well.

Moreno also works angles very well, and can beat a man in a tight space unlike Cash.
