Not sure Ramsey is particularly useful against a low block, Moreno certainly is though.

If you could use one example to highlight the gulf between Gerrard and Emery, McGinn's performances would be up there. When was the last time you saw him shoot hopefully from way out, or play a hopeful lofted ball into the box when there's nothing else on? He just doesn't do that anymore. He doesn't need to do it with so many other options on the ball, and Emery will have worked on his decision making generally as well. He does everything with a clear purpose. Playing at the top of his game.

Even results aside, I just can't take to him. He's not strong enough to bat away people who question him, so he comes up with bizarre reasoning for selecting/not selecting certain players. He also makes bizarre selections generally, and constantly contradicts himself. Not for me, and I can't wait until he's gone personally.

No chance. He's not won knockout games against any top sides. The Euros we basically had home fixtures throughout the knockouts and he still failed. Any crucial game he bottles making changes at crucial times and lets the opposition take control. He even lost a final against an Italy side which failed to qualify for the WC before and after it.

I'm not sure if skinning players is his game. I assumed it was when he first came in, but like you said, we've hardly seen that at all. He's a very clever player though, that's his game I think.

Yeah, I highly doubt Southgate will go from not calling him up to giving him minutes, he's too stubborn and boring, even though Konsa should have been called up a long time ago.

30 goals and 15 assists in say 55 games is a lot better ratio than 16 goals and 6 assists in 40.

Three of those were against Hibs in fairness. And I'm sure Moreno would have had more than three if not for poor finishing also. Moreno's cutbacks are insanely accurate, and he's so good at getting into the positions to make them as well.

Slightly different though. That would have been him leaving for a minimal fee and if we'd sold him at that stage with how everything was going, the fanbase would have revolted. He himself surely wouldn't have wanted to leave on those terms either. If he left now it would be for a big fee while we're on the up. I doubt he'll go anywhere either but you can't rule it out.

Youri and Ramsey are completely different players tbf. Youri is better in tight spaces IMO. Ramsey still has room to improve in that area, but his explosiveness and ball carrying ability is like nothing else in the squad.

We've gone from French players struggling at Villa to three of them (plus Lenglet who's doing well when called upon) all thriving at the same time. Good stuff. Raising our profile as well, we have some really high profile players playing for us at the mo.
