  1. John Terry is another fine example!
  2. Sounds like he just wants to be in France, which could maybe be a combination of homesickness and lack of game time. Really weird one this as he’s clearly a good footballer but at this point I don’t think he wants to be here. Will go back to France on loan in January before being sold at a loss in the summer.
  3. What I would say is that I think the club is very much looking forwards - Gerrard was always the only candidate, wouldn’t surprise me if Purslow has been in touch from last season, however I would like to hope that it was down to the coaching set-up around Gerrard too and not just his name alone. All we can do is get behind him however I don’t buy any of this shortlist rubbish, whether it be 20 names or 4 names. Stevie G was waiting for the call and I’m pretty certain of that.
  4. He certainly won’t be buying £50k players. Sorry to kill the dream as such but Kamara from Rangers isn’t going to turn us into a European side - he isn’t the type of player we need and he isn’t good enough for the upper echelons of the PL (which is where we want to be). Gerrard doesn’t need to scrimp and scrape and I’m pretty certain he won’t because thankfully he knows the gulf between the Premier League and the SPL. I can’t see us taking anybody from Rangers, can see us maybe utilising his relations with Liverpool which I’m not against, but besides that I think he will be using our scouting networking and working with our technical staff.
  5. Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa can spend millions of pounds on a midfielder. Steven Gerrard at Rangers was spending £50k on Dundee midfielders. Why the obsession with Kamara?!
  6. I think we will see him quite soon. His energy and work rate can be lethal when utilised properly. He breaks up play well and he can score goals, get him properly fit and watch him go.
  7. Most Rangers fans say he is a brains behind the operation with Gerrard and he himself he lets him sort the coaching. Looking forward to what they get out of our squad. I think we will see Trezeguet utilised.
  8. Great interview as everybody has stated. I like that he’s already letting it be known that players have to take responsibility and things like having a great training facility means that there isn’t any excuses if they work like they should. Just doesn’t seem all “nicey nicey” and I really think that is what we need. I understand the love in with Deano and how he supported us as a boy, obviously getting us back up and into our current state was a huge achievement which I’m sure he will be proud of for the rest of his days. That said, we have to have an edge now, we can’t keep doing this whole “great bunch of lads” thing. Jacks gone, Deanos gone, the romance is dead. It was a beautiful period for our club. Now it’s time to move onto the next chapter with a bit more of a bite.
  9. Missus said Steven Gerrard wanted to play for Aston Villa when he was a player. No idea.
  10. One side point that I think is kind of cool, is knowing the likes of Gerrard and Terry can go down in our history books. Pretty epic names.
  11. It wouldn’t be so public if he didn’t want to come. Rangers just making sure they get their compo. I’m a big fan of Purslow but this decision is very personally driven
  12. Purslow loves Stevie. It’s an obvious appointment but I don’t know if it’s the right one
  13. Let’s just get his dad in as manager
  14. Really sad end to his time here but unfortunately it looks like it’s goodbye to Deano. Fully appreciate him getting us back to where we are but with no action now things will regress further and we can’t risk being relegated again.
  15. We’re really really crap right now, we need a big shake up it seems
  16. Considering Dean is openly praised by many players for how good he is as a man manager, it’s really weird how this Sanson stuff is unfolding. Regardless of our current state of play, treating a player badly just doesn’t seem like a Dean Smith thing to do. Unless he just hates French people, hence Guilbert getting the same treatment.
  17. Exactly + the fact we signed his brother also, the club clearly have a great relationship with the family. However, if better opportunities are on the horizon you really can’t blame him if he makes a move. “It’s not you, it’s me” vibes. He’s a very talented young lad and just as we have seen our own academy pinching players, the same can easily happen to us. Hopefully not though!
  18. Think it’s more to do with the fact that there any many other clubs, here and abroad, ready to snap him up and offer him more playing time rather than him having a problem with how we have brought him through. There are just better opportunities for him elsewhere.
  19. What about 8 wins in nearly 30 games?
  20. Today’s line up looked like a direct response to fans rather than Deano‘s choice in my opinion. Sort of like “this is what you’ve asked for”. Players aren’t happy clearly, something’s gotta give sooner or later. I don’t see how he gets us out of this, in the sense of our season is going to be below the standard expected and we won’t meet expectations. I think whether he goes now or goes in the summer, it’s kinda inevitable if we are going to stagnate. NSWE won’t have it and rightly so. We need to progress.

    Matty Cash

Yeah from what I saw on Twitter it was just Polish supporters telling him that he better not take the knee when he plays for them. The world is so weird.
  22. Such a shame for the guy, we can all have opinions on how he would have turned out but the fact that he himself will never know and it’s all down to Ben Mee being a word removed is the incredibly harsh part. I saw something about him having a fitness backlog, this is in the last month, his injury as literally destroyed his career. I just hope he managed to change his life enough for it to be worth it. BM should be banned for the life, absolute rocket polisher.
