  1. But only half as crap as the other positions we need to polyfilla in. GK and at least one consistent net bulger up front is an ABSOLUTE must
  2. Without reading too much into the city result... They beat Sunderland 4-1, Newcastle 6-1, Bournemouth 5-1..... As well as palace 5-1. ... And we couldn't even get 1? We're hopeless. Remi out
  3. Why's that? I just don't have the patience I think. I need instant(ish) success. I've tried going down to League 2 and the conference a few times but I get bored of it really easily. I only go villa now and once I win the league and champions league in the same season I never play it again. Don't think we're too different tbh. Once I get what I wanted from the game i'm done. For example I don't think i've ever played more than 5 seasons on FM. I get bored really quickly so I think when I play with real low level teams then hopefully it lasts longer. The proper way to play FM, in my opinion, is to start unemployed with no reputation and work your way up from the very bottom. I've only ever done it a couple of times remotely successfully though. Don't get me wrong, I still have games where I go for Villa or go for someone really good and win everything. But starting from the bottom is the hardcore way to play. this is the only way I play now. I've gone into the editor and resurrected a team that's long been extinct. Set their reputation to 0 or 1. Put them in the lowest league possible and start as their manager. Then on day one completely blitz my own reputation so it's the lowest in the league by far. Essentially it's realistic as you have a new team and an unknown manager who's only ever had Sunday league experience. The end game for me is having enough money in my career earnings (minus living costs) to be able to buy the team I started with, and basically act as managing chairman. it requires a bit of background work but it's actually really rewarding. current career I'm on has seen me manage at the very bottom of the northern irish leagu, secure my first paid contract managing in the 2nd Welsh division, slowly work up to managing in the Welsh premier, move to Wrexham to manage them from the conference leagues up to league 1, I've just been headhunter for the villa job and on a £30k a month contract, it's 2026 its a long game. But really rewarding. I spent about 4 seasons on an amateur contract so managing for £30k a month is crazy
  4. It COULD still happen. Whether it will or not is a different story
  5. If Berbatov and Adebayor were on the table and we got Gayle I would be most displeased. Surely Austin and Berahino etc are ahead of him in Tims shopping list?
  6. tick tock tick tock.... Come on Randy, splash the cash please. The links so far have been promising tho, just need a closed deal or two in the strike department
  7. Was he at Spurs with sherwood? Could be an additional link to add to the dubious links
  8. Lerner should put £1m on that, give sherwood the go ahead, and still make a £5m profit
  9. Plenty of other teams in the area. Surely someone wants to take him off us
  10. "For United fans. Charles N'Zogbia is the new Ryan Giggs. Best heads player, Very good technically and faster than Traore. £15m" Saying it doesn't make it true unfortunately
  11. I'm going to push the boat out here..... Lescott, Adebayor (loan) and Austin to arrive by tomorrow. Lescott is as good as done from what I've read on here, Adebayor and Tim have history and would be a good deal for both The qpr manager and Tim are good mates so I can see this happening relatively quick if the ball starts rolling, even as a loan We've got enough foreign signings for now thanks. We need experienced, premiership players in to strengthen up. I know nothing for certain, I'm not itk, don't get excited just yet
  12. Yeah but Barca can not register him until January because of their transfer embargo Let's face it, he'd be as much use to anyone whether he was registered or not
  13. Europe can only buy players until tonight, players can leave anytime during the season. So we could only sell N'zogbia to Barcelona tonight, but could still sign messi tomorrow
  14. I hate loans. But think of the performances he'd have to put in for them to want him back. It's a win win!
  15. Defence starting to look stronger now, think we were missing an experienced CB. Richards is good but he's not experienced enough in that position to lead the line. Clark is young and will learn from lescott and match time over the season. If he stays fit and gets game time I can see the whole defence benefitting as a unit. Amavi, lescott, Richards, Bacuna
  16. Think the most you can keep is like 2... Maybe 3. Basically if you don't use one in a week you get two next week but then don't gain anymore after that
  17. Finished it yesterday. The ending was certainly interesting without spoiling it. It's very involving for what is essentially a walk around Shropshire. You basically walk around and are presented with the memories of several people from theast few days and have to try and piece together what happened. it's not a game for anyone who wants to be shooting things or doing anything action orientated. But as I said it's very involving, subtly unnerving and pretty deep if you jump into it.
  18. Would be a great signing for Baniyas. N'zogbia is an absolute powerhouse and would be an amazing addition to their squad. No weaknesses in his game at all. Not one. Get it done!
  19. Fairly sure I read somewhere this morning that this deal had died a death and we'd pulled out...
  20. I really don't understand some of the criticism on here. It's three games in ffs. At the end of last season if you'd seen our opening fixtures... (Bournemouth - newly promoted, point to prove, away) (United - a team we've struggled against for years) (Palace - a team invigorated by pardew, with decent new signings and likely to be top 10) If you'd seen those and been promised one win and the others being tight losses, with the performances we've seen from amavi and Adama, you can't say you'd have been disappointed. We haven't been demolished by anyone, for once were scoring goals (not many, but more than we would under lambert). Anyone thinking we were in for a top 6 finish is deluded beyond belief, we're in for a long season, and three games in is not the time to be giving the manager grief
  21. I mostly stand on my feet. Once I stood on my hands but I didn't stand on them for very long.
  22. Duck

    Adama Traore

Tim seems to pick his teams based on the training sessions during the week. I'd say if Adama was skinning everyone for fun in training he'd be walking into the squad every game. Don't forget Tim has been admiring this lad since he was at Tottenham. He must have a plan for him and sees something he can work with.
  23. You know what.... I had Clark originally. Autocorrect and I aren't having the best of times together atm
  24. Hate to step back on topic here, but anyone have a list of players in their last year of contract? Think it's pretty telling already this season who Tim rates given the long contracts dished out to bacons, Clarke and Westwood. Just wondering if there's anymore that are likely to get renewed in the next few weeks? EDIT that should obviously be Bacuna.... Not bacon. Although not sure which I prefer tbh
