Agree with this. If in two years time he's attracting enough interest and bids of more than the buy back fee I'd be happy enough. The other scenario would be him joining the list of players we can't seem to GIVE AWAY. I know which id rather have. He looks a decent player, hopefully he turns into a world beater and falls for the club if he comes here, anything else can wait for now

Signed him for Newport County on a free in FM12. Absolute goal machine for me and got us from the conference to the championship in 5 seasons or something ridiculous. That's about as far as my knowledge extends on him though. Bit of a soft spot for him though based on his virtual performances

In every interview I've seen he just comes across as a great guy to have around the club, there's no one I would take over him in terms of his positive attitude and how much he just wants to win and get results for the club. I do worry though, even from some of his early answers, that he's still experienced primarily as a youth development coach. We're his first major test and long term project. Hope he is just what we need here. He's a strong character and I hope it comes good for him

Where the hell is this article from? I mean there's being realistic and negative and then there's this. Yes we're completely rebuilding and need to re strengthen, yes we have a big season ahead and need to turn up from the off. But we've basically been slated in that article, we have a shit manager, shit players, sold our best players and can't score goals. Aside from the facts, yes we struggled to score under PL, yes we had two players leave for bigger clubs, yes our manager is inexperienced, but ffs it's still preseason. Have a bit of optimism lads, yes it looks bleak and if we start the season with this squad I think we'll all be sweating a bit. But over the next 38 games anything can happen. This is the one point in the season where we CAN and SHOULD be at least attempting to be optimistic

Hate to be pedantic and point this out, but technically sherwood was at Spurs with Ade one year ago. End of 2013-14 was when Tim had Spurs and got Ade scoring, albeit after AVB had made him train with the youth team for the start of the season. Yes it's a full season later, but two years it ain't. I think Timmy has a good relationship with him, yes he has issues and it would be very stupid to rely solely on Ade to keep us up. Two additional strikers and a good deal on this and I'd put full faith in Tim to deliver

Such a contrast of opinions here between his departure and Fibians..... And rightly so. Few of us wanted either of them to leave but I hold no grudges against Christian, he's been a great servant to the club and has always said he wanted to move on to bigger things, fair enough. He's young but from what I've seen of him he looks decent enough. He has possibly the best manager in the league looking after him so I think he'll get his chance this season if he keeps his preseason work up. Depending on how the transfer window goes he may have to go on loan for some football, championship for a few months, but he'll be starting soon enough

The Fulham game was very telling about the attitudes of Gil vs N'zogbia. Gil fought for every ball, he looked hungry and was there to impress and win his place. He was very tidy with his feet, ideas and his passing was fairly tight. Zog was up to his usual standard, sloppy passes, half assed runs to chase loose balls, he lost possession more than anyone else on the pitch for the first half. If it's a choice between the two, for me it's a no brainer based on that. There were times where both were in the same position under the same amount of pressure and Gil did better 100% of the time. Interested to see the lineup for Braga and how they play, but seriously hope Zog is on his way out

Even with Kozak we're really struggling for numbers upfront. Gabby is past it now, if Kozak can step up great, we've shifted bent and weimann. If Benteke goes, we need at least 3 new strikers. One proven premier league talent, a promising youngster and someone to cover the starting strikers for injuries etc
