  1. 4-0 Villa, everytime. Gerrard will find his level sooner or later. Any points on the board pull us further away from relegation and our form ATM is bad enough to worry especially when you look at who we have played.
  2. He will be gone by this time next week. We will lose against Chelsea , hopefully not too badly but they look bang on form ATM...... with a manager we could have got this summer and maybe last summer or as a replacement for Smith November 21. Purslow can't pick our next manager, we need changes at that level with football intelligence and experience. Purslow can do the commercial stuff.
  3. 4 year contract on 200k a week.........£42m + £17m = £60m with no sell on value and let's face facts , he has maybe another 2 seasona left at this level, if he improves.
  4. They have to call a general election, she's completely lost the plot. Sacked him for doing what she had promised to do.
  5. You tend to remember the posters that supported your point of view and I remember the ones that supported mine but the majority wanted him, just like the majority wanted Gerrard (at least on villa talk) Coutinho ( and Ings) took us away from our transfer policy, buying players with sell on potential. The great part of buying these type of players is the hope it gives the fans. Hes beginning to look like an expensive luxury type player, like the one at Barca. I will however hold my judgement on him, as I do our other attack minded players, the system we appear to trying to playis a complete mess and amounts to little more than kick and hope .
  6. Non of our players can be judged until Gerrard has gone, we have no runners and no movement into space for a player like Coutinho to pass or run into. Hes still got something to offer but his signing was foolish at the time and many people pointed this out.
  7. They had something it just wasn't fit for purpose. Funny how we are being told to ignore the experts on the financial melt down, by the same cretins that dismissed Brexit concerns...... from other experts.
  8. His influence over Brexit needs to be looked at in depth. It seriously benefits Russia that we are divided from Europe.
  9. Looks like the start of a new arms race. Hopefully this system will be on Ukrainian soil ASAP.
  10. They would be gutted to be proven wrong and lose face, this is all.
  11. He has to say that, once we're in the bottom 3 he will be told to get someone new in or hopefully sacked with Gerrard and a new Director employed with a new manager. Purslow has made a right mess and if NWSE are really serious about us then he has to go with Gerrard.
  12. Could be but if there anything like the people I know they buy the 2nd house on the equity of the 1st property and then repeat this. One I know has £1m portfolio in houses built up over 10 years, fair amount of equity now though. He used Interest free credit card for the legal fees and stamp duty. It's worked well for 10 years but my god this is a perfect storm for them. A house to me is to live in and a standard wage should be able to afford to buy a decent house, 3 bed semi should be £150-£200k. The next generation of workers 18-25 year olds stand no chance at the moment and if they have a student loan it further fuxks um up. If i was that age I would be off aboard, USA, Canada, Australia or wherever.
  13. Vesper was ok, decent story. 6.5 /10 Nope was ok to start and then descended into a bit of a farce. 5.5/10
  14. Who's going to buy them at the current prices, whoever it is has to most likely get a mortgage at the higher interest rates.......the market has to drop.
  15. I know people in this exact situation and this interest rate rise is a complete disaster to them that can only echo through the housing market affecting house prices.
  16. Chelsea will beat us by at least 2 clear goals, they have improved since Potter took them over. Purslow has to explain how he picked Gerrard and who else was in the frame. We can't allow him to pick another manager after such a poor decision with Gerrard who was a massive gamble right at a time we didn't need to, we now have less to offer a new manager.
  17. The real crunch is coming for the over mortgaged BTL landlords, total disaster if the interest levels go and stay high. The good part about it is house prices are going to have to come down, how much is the next question. 10% isn't to bad but the way this lot in charge is performing i would say 25% wouldn't be unbelievable. I do know people who are trying to sell now to rent and ride the interest rate hikes out then purchase once the market has adjusted.
  18. I think that's relating to the investments made by private pensions to cover their liabilities to future and current pensioners. They are heavily invested in government bonds and as Truss has devalued them they are having to sell them to cover their liabilities. It's a catch 22, the more they sell the lower the value goes, hence the bank of England buying them to try and keep their value up. I'm referring to the state pension Second State Pension Age Review launches The next review of State Pension age has been launched by the government today. The review will consider whether the rules around pensionable age are appropriate, based on the latest life expectancy data and other evidence. The Pensions Act 2014 requires government to regularly review State Pension age, and in accordance with law, this latest Review must be published by 7 May 2023. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/second-state-pension-age-review-launches
  19. They need to save money , cut costs , and pensions are an area they can cut significant costs. They are already under review to see if they can raise retirement ages inline with the average age of death.
  20. She has to make sacrifices now to save money and that has to come from somewhere, obviously the NHS is a big spender but it's hard to cut too aggressively there. There's only a few options and pensions and benefits claims are the go to options, maybe housing benefit, 2nd home taxes? I was born in the late 60's, due to collect state pension at 67, I bet I'm 70 by the time I can claim but that's a saving for the future they need to save now. I can only see people who are due to retire in the next 2-3 years been immune from the cuts.
  21. We was wrung out before Truss started her experimental economics that caused a £60bn buy up of bonds. If vultures continue to pick on the £ and government bonds, the markets see these two as weak and incompetent, they have to go to stabilise the situation.
  22. Will be fascinating if the pound collapses, were looking at an economic collapse that could mimic Greece's. My guess is cuts will be to the disability allowance type benefits, pension age increased to 70 for anyone 60 years or older. Maybe the NHS will be restructured. Tbh the best thing they could do is call a general election.
