  1. If they collapse against us then poch could be under real pressure, its a nightmare game for them tbh.
  2. Arsenal missed about 3 chances that should have been goals first half, unbelievable Good luck for Chelsea, it could easily have been double figures. Arsenal are good team though tbh, takes something special to beat them, especially at home.

I'm convinced that once this season is over we will have some big announcements that are the building blocks to bring our revenue up to match our on field performance. NWSE are no fools , they have the opportunity to cement us as top 4 challengers season after season and they Will not let the commercial side fall behind, its their area of expertise.
  4. Its down to character as well, you have to be forceful, strong and confident to push yourself forward when your surrounded by regular premier league and in some cases international players. Rogers has that, I don't think Tim does, from what I have seen.
  5. Looks like the meat grinder is going to be turned back on then, I'm doubting the Russians will have any decent equipment to stop the ordnance that's going to be coming their way, especially if they have over extended and not dug in/fortified their positions. It really is a destructive war for both countries, devastating tbh.
  6. Watch the second half against Bournemouth, i see flames. 3 games in 11 days and that was the last 45 minutss of it. The last time we played Chelsea we started Carlos and Lenglet in the middle of defense...... We have too much for them, you watch.
  7. I think we will beat Chelsea convincingly, they may have Palmer but we have Ollie, Bailey , Rogers and Diaby. We are so strong all over pitch and we are on fire form wise. We have a rest as well, Emery signing a new deal. 8pm Saturday night at Villa Park. Crowd will be rocking, 3 nil to villa, Ollie getting a hat-trick. UTV, believe.
  8. To me, that's not joined up thinking. The refs get it wrong as well, shall we get rid of them? No of course not. Maybe just get new people in to run VAR , separate to the refs so there's no relationship between them. After than just consistent decisions, as you have pointed out. I don't care if I think it's a wrong decision just as long as its given for us if its given against us. Everton is a hard place to go for refs , the crowd refs the game if their not strong, it happened to us there.
  9. Now Emery sorted for the next few years, let's build or develop a stadium to rival Spurs. For us to give him the funds to do it and to cement the future of the club looking at the next 20-30 years. We need to up our game. "Jakob Barnes Tue 23 April 2024 11:30, UK Tottenham Hotspur’s plans to increase the amount of non-football events taking place at their stadium just took a step forward, as an official application has now been sent to the local council for the changes to be authorised. Since the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opened its doors in 2019, it has quickly become one of the best and most financially successful venues in world football. Spurs now rank eighth in the world when it comes to revenue streams (Deloitte), and a large part of that is down to the impressive returns from the stadium." https://www.spurs-web.com/spurs-news/report-tottenham-submit-official-proposal-to-change-the-way-stadium-is-used/
  10. I don't think gouging your own eyes out is solving anything. People keep blaming VAR but it's not the camera or the TV screen it's the incompetent people watching it and making inconsistent judgements.

We need to patent his genetic profile so we can produce another Emery every 20 years.

Tbh it's like watching a miracle unfold what hes done with that team. It appears that the squad Smith had assembled was a perfect fit for what Emery wanted to do. I'm sure Emery had looked at our players before he took the job and realised the potential they had. The crazy part of it is that the media have missed this miracle unfolding right before its very eyes, only SAF has pointed out how good we was after we had lost to Newcastle at the start of the season. We are going to win the league with Emery or come very very close, who would bet against us?
  13. you are joking, there's a milli second, delay. It just a clear penalty for me, he never got near the ball and he caught the player, it was a stupid foul but it's as clear as day to me. I suppose that's the issue, we all have opinions on it. I can honestly say if cash had made that tackle and they had got a penalty i would have been furious at cash but I would have accepted the penalty.
  14. How can the first not be a penalty, he doesn't get the ball and goes straight through the player, from behind, who goes down, I'm not sure why it wouldn't be a penalty?
  15. Decent video from them, some great VLOGS are available for most teams but I have to say I'm not that impressed with any that cover villa, there's a space in the market.
  16. I think that's where he struggles, aggression. He's not the biggest but he seems to have been lacking in aggression. After that point he seemed to just get stuck in more, not going to win every header or challenge but he needed to try, after that point he did and it made a difference to his influence on the game.
  17. Carlos and Kesler ranked as our 2nd and 3rd best performers Aston Villa came from behind to beat Bournemouth and keep their bid for a top-four finish and Champions League football on track. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68810622

I hope you are right. I see a manager who is working at 110% for the club to be successful, he's away from Spain and his family, living to work. I think he's clever enough to know he can't keep that intensity up indefinitely. If we continue our current trajectory then next season we challenge for the top and have a decent run in the CL. Season after, same again. I think at that point he's achieved what he set out to do, establish us at the top..... This guy is a once in a lifetime occurrence, he's a truly outstanding manager, if I was a fan of any other team I would be fascinated by his success, as a fan of villa I'm awestruck by it. He is giving us an opportunity to break into the top 4, (we're lucky with timing as well, other clubs are fading) and maybe an outside chance at the very top. Once he's gone we need to continue what he started, we need to be building a team in the background that understands football and how it should be coached and managed and what managers offer us that skill set. What we don't want to happen is what has happened in the past with both Doug Ellis, Randy Lerner and Purslow picking managers without having a clue (because they like them)

I would want Emery to help pick his replacement, can't see it happening for a least 2 more seasons though but we have to be "prepared" I truly believe we will challenge at the very top next season, we wasn't far away this season and had injuries all over the pitch and Emery hasn't really brought in many players. 2 or 3 signings and we're there or there about, truly remarkable.
  20. The speed and mobility of Rogers and Ramsey would be a frightening proposition to play against. Going to be interesting to see if he starts against Chelsea and if he does how he gets on against Gallagher who I rate highly as a dm.

For years we have picked up and coming managers who we have elevated to being our manager. Emery is the first time, since MON/big Ron that we have picked a manager who is above our standing. From now on let that be a lesson learnt, the manager is easily the most important person at the club. Break the bank amd get the right one, otherwise your building on sand.
  22. We was missing both our central defenders and Dignes. No Rogers either. Midway through some indifferent form. Chelsea are a good team but their not on our level and I can't believe I'm saying that.
  23. So what , one defeat doesn't define us. Emery will have a plan and we're a different team playing at a completely different level. We have grown, watch ollie and Rogers today, Bailey. Unplayable. We will beat them, I have no doubts .
