  1. I understand why Moreno gets the nod as what he offers in theory gives the team more balance, but Digne is simply a better footballer and definitely having the superior season. I feel a lot more comfortable with him on the pitch at the moment.
  2. Indigo

    Jhon Durán

The lad is a nutter but I can't help but love him, and when it starts clicking for him you can see why there's a lot of faith in what he could become. Scared Doyle stiff when he went in for the tackle and the second goal came right from it, and made a good nuisance of himself thereafter. Just can't really trust him to lead the line going into such part of the season given his temperament, so fingers crossed Watkins is alright.
  3. BIG. Really felt like a (relatively) comfortable winning performance was needed after the recent unconvincing run of performances and with City next up. Diaby obviously will take the bulk of the credit hut thought Tielemans was great, as was the impact of the subs.
  4. One or two links again to Mario Hermoso in the Spanish press earlier, who could be a useful addition. Who knows how true they are but it ticks some boxes that would lead you to believe there could be something in it.
  5. If a player off another team does that against Villa they're Ben Mee MK2. It was a ridiculous "tackle", he's ran at Udogie, zero intention of playing the ball and kicked straight through him, it's as reckless as it gets. Deserved what he got.
  6. None of those are definitions of a red card. What you've done here is describe other ways of getting sent off and say that McGinn shouldn't have received a red because these arbitrary examples don't apply, unfortunately that's not how it works.
  7. Lads he's completely barrelled at Udogie and intentionally booted him with absolutely no attempt at winning the ball. It's an almost dictionary definition red card, no excuses he's let the side down by totally losing his head.
  8. Completely deserved. Pathetically stupid tackle to put in.
  9. Poor performance and game overall that the ref somehow made himself the story of. Wasn't a dirty game but you'd think otherwise looking at how the cards were handed out, utterly bizarre stuff. Need much better at the weekend and next week.
  10. Quite an interesting line-up, whenever we have a few return from injury and you look at the bench it puts in perspective how strong the squad is. Really hopeful for Tim to have a strong performance and prove his worth at this level.
  11. I love Luiz but I'd say out of all key players he's the most likely in this hypothetical scenario. He has been excellent so will command interest and a massive fee in the process, and simply due to the pool of players out there in his position he's more easily replaced than certain others. Needless to say hopefully it doesn't come to that though.
  12. Great awareness for his assist yesterday, didn't notice him actually look at Luiz/for the pass at any point on the replays, just knew he was there and took the unselfish option. A fully fit and firing Ramsey offers something unique to this team so it's a relief to see him getting up to speed again, hopefully a goal or two soon and he'll really be away again.
  13. Hopefully he's alright, such a key player anyway but particularly so now given all the absentees. If not it's making even more of a pretty annoying trend of players having set-backs as soon as they return.
  14. Excellent again today. What a player.
  15. That 4th goal was HUGE. Made it a game spiralling out of control to knocking the stuffing out of Forest and allowing us to see things out. Similarly That Iwobi goal for Fulham is massive. The mounting injury list is so concerning though. The fixtures are soon to get quite tough and frequent and it'll be some feat to navigate it successfully with the way the availability of the squad is going. Today is a good day though so enjoy that and worry about the rest later.
  16. Might block his name from appearing on social media for me, hurting my soul seeing all the reviews he's getting. Out of that crop of young players he was always the one I had the highest hopes for/enjoyed watching the most. Would love to see him come back eventually.
  17. Emery's reign has obviously been incredibly refreshing but both United games this season really have felt like same old. A total lack of composure at both ends of the pitch have killed us there, and yet again the general lack of physicality in the team exposed by both goals. Have been saying it for weeks, but they really need to start putting a run together again ASAP because it's been stodgy stuff since the start of December but they're still in a position to do something great this season.
  18. This game really does feel pivotal for being in good shape to finish in the top 5. Given the ropey run of form since December, coming out of today 11 points ahead of United would be huge, but conversely if the lead is cut to 5 it really would feel like we were sleepwalking our way towards ending up settling for EL qualification (which wouldn't be a failure at all mind). I tend to be as optimistic as I can but I don't have a great feeling about this one, that defence really does not match up well against United's attack and is there to be got at.
  19. We've been ropey performance-wise since the City/Arsenal double. Felt like a big result and performance was being cried out for to get things back on track so hopefully this has been the tonic whilst still being in the top 4 in the process.
  20. When you're good, you're good. (Not my fault if it goes wrong though)
  21. For me: Martinez Konsa-Carlos-Lenglet-Moreno Bailey-Kamara-Luiz-McGinn Tielemans Watkins
  22. Really, really need a big performance and win as soon as possible. Have been sleepwalking since that City and Arsenal double in December but it hasn't bitten us as much as it could have.
  23. Big Fab with the exclusive yet again.
  24. Not that there's ever a bad time, but really feels like a game where we could do with the boost of a good result and performance. At face value everything is still going well, but performances haven't been particularly good since early-December and with the Duran, FFP etc stuff in between the general mood seems to have dampened a bit. Will always be tough against Newcastle but they've been ropey to say the least and it's the best home side in the league vs the second worst away side here so it's a prime opportunity to take advantage of that ahead of some winnable upcoming games with hopefully some key players returning in the process.
  25. The issue with the suggestion of just moving on to Rowe instead is that I'm pretty sure he'll cost quite a bit more than Rogers (at least from some of the talk I've seen, could be wrong), so it's probably not much of a goer if it's the cost of this move that is stalling things. Not hugely convinced by this one, personally. He seems to have some of the raw materials you'd need to succeed and if Emery wants a player I'd trust him to get it out of him, but the more the price goes up the more pressure there is for him to actually live up to it sooner than later, and his current record isn't the most convincing.
