  1. Not convinced it scales well digitally though, which is the reason why there was a flat lion in the first place (as well as the detailed one). But I suppose there could be versions designed to scale to a small size.
  2. No but there was somebody in an incredibly big and shiny golden coat.
  3. Just accidentally saw Shed 7 in HMV Birmingham. Not exactly a vast crowd there, but the band seemed on good form.
  4. Wouldn't surprise me if it was Heck that negotiated the Adidas deal, or at least figureheaded it. I'd have though Nassef getting too involved would be seen as a bit of a conflict of interest by some, no?
  5. Wonder if the details of this being revealed/leaked are a partial attempt to recover some good will after the badge calamity.
  6. What is the point of this? The lion in the badge is the flat, non-detailed version of the fully designed lion. That has been the case since the badge refresh years ago. I don't get what this is trying to demonstrate.
  7. Very important reporting from the BBC about a James Blunt museum in a phone box and an in depth interview with a woman named Karen who doesn't want to visit it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4nyv2kk407o
  8. Watching The Last Crusade with my daughter and every time Indy was on screen she referred to him as "John McGinn" for some weird reason. "Why is John McGinn on an airship? Why does John McGinn have to go to a castle? Why does John McGinn have to choose a shiny cup?"
  9. Really, this is all that it needed to be isn't it?
  10. I mean, I agree about unleashing the lion (I think) but obviously you couldn't have a claret lion on a claret shirt so the above idea of an unleashed lion AND more claret is completely daft.
  11. It is the 10th round of the FA Cup competition.
  12. I often wonder why it doesn't just get rotated a few degrees anticlockwise to stop it from looking like it's falling over backwards.
  13. Don't know about anybody else, but when I've been abroad to capital cities I've hopped on a train to go to a famous old attraction many times. Example: in Prague I went off to Plzen to look at the pilsner brewery. No reason at all in my mind why tourists wouldn't want to visit the place where the football league began (well, close enough anyway), to see the first, original "most famous club in football". All the club need to do is make it attractive to visit, with a quality museum space (like Barcelona do) and something like the Warehouse concept. I honestly think with the right marketing Villa Park could easily attract tourists from London for a day out.
  14. Totally disagree here. The biggest impact a ref can have is in the little decisions that stop the team from being able to play or challenge for the ball.
  15. Did not think it was a pen in real time but in the replays.... He did get clipped
  16. It's made it into The Mirror and probably other newspapers too. Not a great PR situation for the club really (if they care). https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/aston-villa-badge-fans-emery-31803056
  17. That definitely scales down better than the current round badge
  18. The only issue I have with the round badge really is that at small scales it looks fairly, I don't know, heavy and blobby. I don't think it scales to small sizes particularly well, maybe because it is pretty dark overall. Still a billion times better than the new abomination however.
  19. Oh no.... I just suddenly had a horrible image of a claret strip with a blue sash.
