Other than John Terry I've yet to see a centre back not make silly mistakes at such a young age. Look at his attributes rather than those few moments at this point. I've no doubt he's destined to be one of the world's top defenders.

I wouldn't worry about Gil. Tim's done a great job of kicking this team up the backside. Nzogbia was picked and he looked more up for it than he has in years. He obviously earned his spot in training and wanted to keep it. Brilliant! Now Gil has to earn that spot. To make it even better Jack came in and did really well too. You want competition and players climbing over eachother to get in the team.

Too easily bullied. Wants the ball all the time but can't play a killer pass. A big part of the problem at villa for me. You can't afford to have a player who can't create have as much of the ball as he does.

A terrible collection of non footballers bar Benteke who showed how he can influence a game if allowed into it. Unfortunately he's surrounded by utter dross so it doesn't matter. Andi Weimann is the worst footballer I've seen at this level. Did he do anything non-comical with the ball after he came on. Goners.

He wouldn't have played that weak pass to try and slip in Benteke if he was feeling confident. He was clearly scared of getting caught with the ball. Hopefully Tim can give him the confidence to back himself. That's really what he's been missing.
