  1. We're Villarizing him. Taking a decent left sided player and just wearing down his confidence until he becomes a dithering insecure mess and signs for Barnsley.
  2. Sanchez the only one playing well because he's the only one who possibly could play well the way we are set up. Sit deep and compact and break things up. We won't score, we offer no threat. Traore on to scare the bejaysus out of them please.
  3. Has to replace Westwood. I genuinely think he is the problem. He is a quandary because he's the football mans footballer. Every little tip you would have for your son starting off playing he emulates; show for the ball, move into space after passing, play with your head up. Sounds great, wrong. He's just not expansive enough and given he gets so much of the ball he dictates all of our play, and what he dictates is not good enough. He's like the midfield embodiment of the 80/20 rule. He can do 80% of the game perfectly which you would think would result in a really good footballer. But it's the 20% he can't do that wins matches and creates a dominant football team. Because he has the ball so much we are limited by what we will ever achieve. Why am I typing this In the Jordan Veretout thread? Because from the little I've seen He can do everything Westwood can do but has a spark to him. He is quite capable of a defence splitting pass no one else saw. Westwood never does that. He would play the less risky pass and play it adequately well. This is the area of the pitch I think we need most change. i will defend Sanchez to the death because I think he does what he needs to do very well. Veretout needs to be our ying to his yang.
  4. Have we turned on this guy too? Just trying to keep up.
  5. So when is the kid back I'm an emotional mess and I'm ready to pin all of my hopes on an inexperienced teenager.
  6. He just got isolated and Tim managed to put him in the perfect position to showcase his weaknesses. He sits deep so he is often available for the ball but when in a midfield 2 he doesn't always have a simple pass he can play when he receives it. In a 3 he generally does. You could see when Grealish laid it back to him he looked up and saw no one and panicked. He can't turn his way out of trouble. He should have lumped it into the box. I can't blame him for the earlier loss of possession where Bacuna played a square 35 yard lofted pas to his chest while he was already marked. That was one of the stupidest passes I've seen played.
  7. He has no footballing brain whatsoever and that's his problem. He won't read the flight of a pass vs the movement of players well at all. Supreme athlete with ridiculous reflexes, agility and shot stopping. He will continually mess up where a little bit of reading of the game to position yourself right is needed. This is what makes De Gea the best in the world. He's a footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. We have an American high school jock who plays as a goalkeeper. Yesterday evening I would have torn up his contract but today I think he is still preferable to a generally second tier keeper like Foster or Speroni who are just a general weak point. At least Guzan can be a strong link from time to time. It's fair to say his weaknesses have been costing us a lot more than his strengths have been gaining us of late though.
  8. How often does he have to be exposed in a two but look good at the base of a three for Tim to catch on?
  9. We are all looking for a scapegoat and someone or something to blame but the Leicester City circlejerk is fully erect this point and at home with their crowd behind them they could beat Real Madrid at this point. Theyre second ffs. We all know its going to.come to an end. They dont have the players and teams will figure out Mahrez. We should have closed this out but at least our best creative players are in the team and doing damage. For me the big thing is turning around our home form. If we can not lose at home for 5 or 6 games we will be in such a good position. Not too worried about the away matches. Still stings though.
  10. @hopster i miss him so much

  14. Hope theres a shot of sherwood sitting on the bench with a bloke in a leather skin mask and dreads in full villa kit behind him.
  15. Didnt see it but a 2-1 loss away to palace is not a shocking or surprising result. Tim signalled his intention by making Richards on field captain and Gabby club captain in that Gabby might be rotated a lot. Sounds like he was poor again and surely its time to take him out. Hope Tim agrees. Im not so worried about Gestede being quiet. If our other attacking players do well he will be loitering in the box waiting to get on the end of something. He is never going to be the spark regardless.
  16. These songs are getting awfully abstract I think this one is 'Don't Look Back In Anger' by Oasis. Read first letter of every sentence No Tit. K?

  20. Welcome to Villa Jordan. Where the fans get way too excited about you, berate you, jerk you off, turn on you, petition for you to be sold then call you a traitor in that order.
  21. Benteke looks on as Tim spends the money from his transfer
  22. Hmmm... I suppose on the basis of that video we should be pretty relieved that we're not signing his dad. His Dad was an incredible player.
