I love the media. I read earlier something about the predictions for this weekend on the BBC. Villa are "out with the empties at the end of this season" no matter what. Sunderland, however, are still in it and "firmly in the fight to survive". Is 4 points and 4 more goals all it takes to go from 'definitely, 100% certainly gone' to 'in a fight to stay up!'

I fully expected the media to go hard on French and Arsenal links this transfer window. Most of it will be nothing more than stabs in the dark.

People say we're too soft. Allow me to put forward my proposal to toughen us up. Note: Goals aren't guaranteed with the beast. Fatalities are.

Sorry, I don't believe I said he would get a call up. What I said is he can be enticed and motivated to get playing time somewhere with a view for the Euro's. I don't believe for one second that Remy will get a starting position in the French national team. But if you're a 28 year-old striker whose current club is the reigning Premier League champions and you played during the last major tournament for your country, you will back yourself to have a chance to get into the squad if you get game time on loan elsewhere. Regardless of what anyone thinks about his chances of making the French squad, he'll want to and will back himself to be in with a chance.

What are we hoping to stay up for now? Another season of bobbing along atop the bottom three? I'm actually sick to my stomach of the Villa I've sat through and watched for the last 5 years.
