  1. Well sunday was a he's leaving day and yesterday was a he's staying day, so I guess today is a he's leaving day.
  2. Some shameful posts in the last couple of days. Get it together boys.
  3. The big difference is that they could offer the most money by far. Other teams couldn't even come close to the same offer. Still, it's a big positive they've managed to keep Giannis of course. It'll be interesting to see if and how much into the luxury tax the Bucks would be prepared to go into for next season.
  4. Hopefully Edens is as successful in football as well
  5. It won't be remembered and it won't matter to most people, including Jack himself ( probably ), but it's a symptom, one of many. Throughout the tournament Southgate didn't know his best 11, or his best 14, or his best formation. His tactical approach has been incredibly one dimensional, lacking in imagination and playing down to the opposition level, instead of taking the games by the horns and using the incredible talent he's had at his disposal. This England team was the best in terms of ability and talent in the tournament, honestly it wasn't even close. I watched the Brazil and Argentina final as well - they're both significantly worse than this English team is, or could be more like. They're being dragged down by a manager who's incapable of developing them and turning them into the force they could be. I'm not english, so I don't really care about that team, apart from when Villa players are participating, but I really believe they can win multiple major trophies with the players they have. Southgate has done well to get them to the final, but playing the way they do is not how you should approach the game when you have the talent disparity in your favour. It's like Bruce taking Villa to the final against Filham and approaching the game in a similar fashion. Sure he's done well to get there, but you could be much more developed with someone who can take advantage of the immense talent at hand. You can play defensively and limp to 1-0 wins against significantly weaker opponents, you can call it results business and so on, but you're not even trying to reach that next level everyone knows you're capable of. Again - not even trying - this is such a waste.
  6. Same for me. I’m not english and whenever Jack doesn’t play I root against them (mostly). When he plays I root for them. Simple.
  7. 1 billion won’t buy anyone we can’t currently attract. The best players in the world aren’t coming to Villa , especially Villa without Grealish.
  8. Meh. 100 mil these days gets you less than 2 Ben Whites. It doesn't come near enough to replacing Jack's influence on and off the pitch.
  9. How does that work in real life though? Agent talks to Purslow, Purslow makes a real 30+ mil bid for the player, despite of having other targets, and hoping Arsenal would actually refuse? What if Arsenal say yes? Or are these two bids fake and they never happened? Then wouldn't Arsenal know about it?
  10. Bucks making every mistake possible, they should be 3-2 up going home for game 6 to finish the series. Love coach Bud, although he's been thoroughly outcoached, and rooting for them because I'd hate to see Kawhi ringing again but it's not looking good.
  11. Don't like playing promoted teams early, especially away.
  12. Hopefully he’ll be fine. These paramedics are heroes.
  13. The rags have got wind of our championship contingency plans from a summer or two ago again. Hughes, Swift, etc. don't think so.
  14. It's tapping up when other teams do it. When your team's player does it it's F YEAH GO EMI!
  15. Manchester Blues can piss off with any Grealish offers, but if they're selling Laporte I'd love him at the Villa.
  16. I don't think it's particularly close, tbh. Buendia is better and would cost more than twice as much.
  17. Last summer I didn't think GK and RB were positions where important upgrades should be made. I also wanted Edouard over Watkins and Rashica (yes, guilty) over Traore. Shows what I know. Thankfully the club seems to be in great hands for the first time in my life, so I'll just enjoy the ride. They'll have a plan and I'm confident in their abilities. It's surreal even typing this about my Aston Villa but yeah, it appears we're one of the best run clubs.
  18. Off topic, but don't ever invest in stocks
  19. Realistically even sustaining this season's achievements - getting around 50 points and maintaining 10th/9th - would represent a good season. Being an established top half team isn't that easy. Obviously we'd all love a few more points and a couple of positions higher up but challenging for top 6 seems quite optimistic to me even with another busy summer. We're years behind in terms of squad building, just like Wolves, who have suffered this season. This is why simply avoiding a dip, like theirs, would be a positive for me.
  20. Arsenal Are they going to draft him for the Super League or something?
