  1. Thinking also about splashing out now dodgy as most of the bugs seemed to have been sorted. Villarule is that deal at Sainsburys include any games?
  2. Lack of sleep. Just leaves you feeling shit all day.
  3. Don't think we'll be signing either Barry or Lescott under the current circumstances but if we did I think Barry and Westwood would be too similar. Id like to see a a midfield of Barry, Delph and Hoolahan with Westwood demoted to the bench as a squad filler.
  4. Who employed the coaches Richard? Who purchased the players Richard and who then presided over two relegation battles with no improvement when those defending him said it would take a season for the new players to bed in. Rather than be credited with keeping us up he should and has been widely condemned for reaching parity with probably one of the worst managers this club has ever seen. Making a case for him to stay is not through performance but rather through the devil you know and that is based on who would want to come in and work under the present circumstances hence my previous comments elsewhere that Lambert is one very lucky man still being in a job when anywhere else he would have been sacked.
  5. The coaches have been poor. The manager has been poor to disastrous and the chairman has lost interest. Team Lambert has in affect failed and will continue to fail until the club internal set up changes.

Who you calling a pikey? Open to a right hook.
  7. Just maybe because we have a track record of doing so.
  8. This thread especially the last page. Currently we are better than Hull, WBA, Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff, the last three being relegated. We are worse than 14 other teams in the Premiership. That isn't a fluke as we managed that last season as well. The table never lies or so I was informed when we were in mid table this season.
  9. ....continuity of what exactly? This is the crux of the argument for or against keeping him on now for me. People state given the predicament the club finds itself in in terms of being up for sale that it is now best to keep Lambert on for the sake of continuity - he knows the players etc, etc. However when you look at what it is we would be continuing with it is frightening. We secured one win from our last 9 games, taking just 4 points from 27, go back a little further and look at the last 15 games we took just 11 points from 45 and go back even further and from our last 24 games we took just 19 points from a possible 72. I cannot think of one reason to give me hope Lambert can turn that around. We had a decent end to the 12/13 season, Lambert spent around 15-20 mill last summer, signed half a dozen players and we went backwards and had our worst season since we were relegated in 1987. I fear if we go with the policy of continuity it will result in a continuation of our dire from and ultimately lead to relegation. To at least give ourselves a chance we need a change of manager regardless of who the owner is. Right on the money and unchallenged which says a lot.
  10. In the present circumstances I want the player but don't want the manager and maybe if the manager isn't here he won't come to us so it's a toss up for me what it worse?
  11. Was just thinking the same thing. Can't see Baggies selling us anyone though Stuck out like a sore thumb in a game lacking any real quality. Would be the Dm we've been crying out for sitting in front of our back four but as you say the baggies would be reluctant to sell to us and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see any of the top four or five buying him in the summer and then loaning him back to the baggies to develop him more.

Rob stroke the little fella until the happy ending. It relaxes you and in no time you'll be off to sleep.
  13. I'm just wondering would Hoolahan still want to come to us with Lambert gone? Probably not so we sign Hoolhan first and then Lambert goes when the new owners come in.
  14. I still don't think they'd come not even if Lambert kept saying we go again.
  15. I'm struggling to recall a post in recent times on this site that so singularly fails to grasp the reality of the situation and misses the point so spectacularly as this one Try the one where someone said that Lambert was the best manager we've had in thirty years.
  16. Poor manager buys poor players = relegation struggles.
  17. If he had Bowery's attitude then he would still be a Villa player.
  18. A mate of mine who is a Manchester United fan confirmed to me today that the above headline was the first time Moyes attacked anything.
  19. They can have Baker and Clark for 50m if they want.
  20. Unless Norwich refuse to sell to us again I think Hoolahan will be a Villa player before the start of the season. He is every bit as good as Holtby while costing a darn sight less in wages and fees.
  21. I hope you are right Denis but I just can't see it.
  22. The media keep telling us they haven't Forget this years spending but £35m for Carrol + £20m for Downing - would blow must clubs transfer budget for a couple of seasons... Minus £50m for Torres? I don't remember that much money being wasted on a crap player merry go round for a long time? Henderson £20m also.Or was that a different window? Henderson has played very well this season and Liverpool's results dipped without him. I generally feel Henderson is a little underrated. A new Ray Kennedy perhaps?
  23. Anyone thinking under the present circumstances that we're going to paying the type of wages to attract players of the calibre of Barry and Lescott are living in cloud cuckoo land. We'll probably get someone like Hoolahan in who wouldn't be a bad signing at all and maybe a loan if his club is prepared to pay most of the wages.
  24. And who signed those players to make it the youngest squad in the league and who then tried to back track his policy by targeting more experience players in January after forming the bomb squad with our more experienced players?
  25. No you didn't say Lambert was a good manager. I was referring to another poster and it was badly worded so apologies for that. I've never stated or alluded to McLeish being a better manager than Lambert so there was no basis for the you think comment and I agree there's no point in repeating the same argument as we are too far apart on opinion.
