  1. Maybe he wanted to join the European underdog and thrives on the challenge of changing a game with 5 mins to go?
  2. Why have you suggested Fiorentina or Napoli? Why not go all in and manage Colchester? Why the easy mode? Again, he doesn't need to do it. He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. If anything else, have you watched Man City? I have never seen a team as well drilled as them. I am not saying better, or more impressive. But his style is clear to see. And to me (and the board of Barcelona, Bayern and Man City) that is enough evidence without even going into his trophy cabinet.
  3. If Pep took over Man U, he would likely challenge for the title within 3 years. But some would ridicule him because he lost away to Liverpool and fell 9 points short of them in season 1.
  4. It is - Pep at Fiorentina is like the pope running a local parish, Bill Gates managing funkypigeon.com or Gordon Ramsey taking over a local chippy. He doesn't have to go down to Fiorentina because he has proven he is an elite manager and can get any job in the world.
  5. I'd like to see Zuckerberg managing MySpace. See what he's really made of.
  6. He is one of the best. Not a God, not a Messiah, but a very good, elite manager. Not a fraud.
  7. The reason is the biggest football brains in the world decided he is the manager to be trusted with such money. Other than CL (and he got close on numerous occasions) he achieved everything he could. I believe their combined director team at Man City have greater football knowledge than we do.
  8. So you are assuming it's only Pep that spends that money? Do they not have a team of directors making transfers?
  9. Let's put it that way, I would love to have a fraud Guardiola at Villa.
  10. They did - but I can buy a brand new car at £50k, or the same car at £30k a year later, it does not mean I have an inferior car (maybe with a few more miles on the clock). Look at Lewandowski - his entire career combined transfer fee is £4.5m. Is he not a £100m player? Hence I take the 'spend' with a pinch of salt. There are numerous factors in play, and Madrid definitely have a team full of big money players.
  11. take away the age, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Benzema, they are all £100m players.
  12. Bayern is nice, a classic, but Liverpool is a bit meeeeh. I guess that's what you could have expected from a red shirt.
  13. Not sure winning the league (beating Liverpool, one of the best 21st century teams) and reaching final stages of the CL on numerous occasions could be considered as fraud. I think we are underestimating what an achievement winning the CL is. And don't tell me he spent a gazillion trying to do it. Liverpool, Juventus, PSG also spend a lot of money. It's just a tough competition to win. He is not a fraud.
  14. Arguably, Man City should have played with 10 men for most of the game.
  15. When Man City play Burnley, I get the money argument. But Man City who play Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, the $$$ becomes less relevant. Jack did cost a lot of money, but he is worth it.
  16. They usually have the new Man U kit around May so why would they bother with Villa in September
  17. Sure thing, just a phrase I used. He always wanted to play his best, and even when he didn't he was often the best player on the pitch.
  18. What's this BS on the BBC site about voting player of the match in the first half. Wait until game is over. Really annoys me.
  19. To be fair at one point I stopped voting Jack motm because it just became boring - when he wanted, he played a different sport to anyone else on the pitch.
  20. I always said that Man City play 100% every game. Liverpool play 95%, but when they have to they switch it up to 120%. Man city are objectively better in a 50 game season. But on their day, Liverpool are the best in the world.
  21. probably the 2nd best (arguably the best) player to have played the game. That's football fan discussion. Jack Grealish is a failure, Ronaldo is shit.
  22. When I used to work in an agency in a typical office environment, that was our favourite hobby. Singing chants at other office members. We got rather creative. Our team was small, but we had a few sister companies there. We were pariahs of our office. Those were the fun youth days.
