  1. I am sure it will free up far more beds than 40,000 as we dramatically decrease heart disease, cancer, obesity and other major problems. Please take my comment with a caveat of taking the argument to it's extreme. But the point is that we are toeing a thin line here, and as soon as we make it compulsory to be vaccinated against COVID, where do we stop? Would you like to introduce a Flu jab certificate or a Measels certificate?
  2. That's exactly the point; we are literally shitting on individual liberties of people like it's no problem whatsoever. I say we should ban all sugary drinks and snacks, and let's throw in alcohol and smoking - we will save hundred's of thousands of lives, and within a generation, increase the life expectancy by 5 years minimum. Some might say that eating crap isn't infectious - say that to an 8 year old who sees his parents do it on daily basis.
  3. I am all for vaccinations and I think people get the vaccine when called up - I know I will. So my question is, knowing that Measels can be a deadly disease and statistically kills 1 in 500 people infected, should we introduce Measels passports in order to safely have a pint in the pub? (Please note the sarcasm in the 2nd sentence)
  4. Yes, but there is also a lot of fan cynicism; 'Kane is diving and is shit' 'Calvert Lewin was good for a month in 2020' 'Mount can clean Grealish boots' '5 Defenders? Vest wearing tw**' And these are just some of the mainstream opinions - no wonder an average fan is finding it hard to get behind that team. And it has always been the case since I've moved to England in 2005. I think it's the general negativity towards other teams in the Premier League which makes it harder to support individual players.
  5. It's not brave and outspoken until they change their social media profile picture.
  6. It is bullshit. France goal was both offside and handball.
  7. Allowing Gay marriage by legislation is not libertarian. A libertarian thing to do would be to take the government out of the picture when it comes to any kind of marriage - government can neither allow nor disallow it, it just wouldn't have any say in it. So I guess that brings your total down to 0
  8. Poland have a new manager and while I would normally say this is a routine England 3-0, there is talks of players being much further up the pitch to support Lewandowski. In my opinion Southgate is a poor manager so I guess he might be caught out by the tactic change. But on paper, still an easy England win.
  9. Because while the virus is clearly a dangerous infectious disease, it's also become a stick to hit people with. Imagine one crazy parent going ape shit for not deep cleaning something. It would backlash on the school badly. Same with outdoor dining - we could have opened restaurants that are able to offer outdoor seats ages ago with a caveat of proving customers are one household. But we decide not to, with more of a political than scientific reasoning.
  10. I'd be a a bit more cynical and say that international travel being delayed is due to two factors; caution by government, but more importantly, the desire to keep people spending money in Cornwall rather than in Cyprus or Ibiza. Once the summer comes, international travel ban will be a 'Eat out to help out' on steroids.
  11. Is there no middle ground? Why do players need to take drugs and get hammered? Any physio/doctor will tell you the benefits of a good night's sleep and staying up late does have a long term affect on physical performance, this is just a fact. If they train hard and do their work at 12, no problem, but excuses such as "they play video games late" just don't sit well with people. I'm not critiquing the training method, I am criticising the PR approach to this problem - you don't say stuff like this to people who support their team.
  12. I think it's not the hour that they start, it's the "they play video games late" that's the issue. I think some fans just don't want to hear stuff like that about players that earn big dollar. Especially if they are on a bad run of results, and especially if their apparent fatigue is contributed to long Covid by some where as there seems to be a more obvious explanation now.
  13. Grealish probably makes it in for the afternoon session still plastered. But on a serious note, that is a pathetic argument if true. Young men don't go to bed early? Tell that to young men that wake up at 4:30 to make it for the 6am shift while looking after kids once they get back. On the other hand, if we can do an effective training session at a later hour, it doesn't make a difference. Maybe we finish later than others?
  14. You go to a dentist and they will recommend a treatment. You go to a garage and they will suggest oil replacement. You go to a bar and the bartender will offer another round. It's what epidemiologists do, its their business. There could always be the next strain that causes 10% fatality, so epidemiologists will always suggest causion. They don't understand the wider picture of Katie the hairdresser losing her business because there is a 1% chance someone will get ill in 2022. *Edit: well, maybe they do understand it, but it's not their primary concern.
  15. Trezeguet is what I imagine is a result of someone who has no footballing talent at all but training hard all their life and going through various academies.
  16. I sometimes wonder, what are clubs that make moves like this thinking? It's clearly not good business, those players won't win them anything, is it shirt sales and marketing? If Spurs/Arsenal/Atalanta/Leipzig/ or any other team short of real success signed Aguero I'd question their recruitment, but isn't Barcelona supposed to be an elite club?
  17. I really hope he beats Mueller's record
  18. Sure, but punching someone in the tunnel has to have some consequences - if Slavia wanted to they could have called the police on Kamara, it's an assault.
  19. While we can't prove what was said by Kudela, the attack by Kamara would have been seen by many people so I wonder what action will be taken.
  20. It's a Grealish injury. You know, it's one of those when you tell your missus you will take the rubbish out. You will, and Grealish will play, but it might not happen in the immediate future.
  21. The mighty Rangers, led by the even mightier captain and leader Stevie G are behind to Slavia Prague.
  22. Same as Villa really - we had what, 13 positives in one go? All it takes is 2 of them, and it can quickly multiply.
