  1. And as much as VAR causes some problems, not giving that hand ball is also a big problem.
  2. All I know is that if I'm German or French, I'd rather play England than Belgium.
  3. Polish commentator said it best last night; There are two things for certain after this game. Poland will not win the European Championships. But neither will England.
  4. My favourite quote from that is "There is a lot of talk around not needing two holding midfielders, why not playing six attackers? I kind of understand why the manager sometimes doesn't do that. There has to be that balance between the two." So, when are we gonna strike a balance and not play 2 holding midfielders in order to be so defensive?
  5. Bayern is better than PSG - probably just as much talent, but a more mature, experienced team. Then I have to give it to Man City this season. They are amazing, and while it will be close, I think they will edge Bayern, especially as Lewandowski will be just coming back from his injury.
  6. Comparing Lewandowski to Kane is a bit like comparing Cristiano Ronaldo to Raheem Sterling. Both excellent, but not really in the same league of achievement or ability.

    Baseball Caps

Is there a good way to get rid of sweat marks on baseball caps? Has anyone figured out how to do it? Google seems to give plenty of advice, none of it any good.
  8. Your boss is probably on the same boat - they can now take their kids to the nursery, go for a lunchtime run, eat healthier home cooked food while still working just as hard - and see their little kid go to bed rather than being stuck on a late train. It's a no brainer, but like I mentioned, it's probably bad news for BoJos tax pockets.
  9. Who in their right mind (except for local people, families etc) would want to live in London if they will only work there once a week? I can't see many grads and young professionals moving there and paying massive rents if they can get half price apartments in Birmingham or Coventry. Another thing that BoJo can have another think about is what the hell is the point of HS2 now? All those corporate busshhnesshhhmeeeen finally see that they don't have two travel for 2 hours for a business meeting - so whats the point in wasting £100b on this, even more useless now, project?
  10. Sunak was hinting at the same last week. They are simply looking for change behind the sofa - if you catch a train to work you (often); buy a ticket, buy a coffee, buy some lunch, buy a pint after work, buy a ticket back. All taxable goods. Another thing is office building standing empty, no cleaners, receptionists, security. They won't have a job, an neither will the architect of the next London office skyscraper, or the construction worker who was going to build it. People working from home is not good for Boris' tax pocket.

    The NSWE Board

You are right today, but in 50 years time our grandchildren will think differently. In 50 years time, the Etihad will be a historic venue. Aston Villa is greater than Villa Park, and Villa Park MK2 will also form a part of the great history one day. Although I hope we can modernise and improve our current stadium, I wouldn't be opposed to a new one.
  12. That is not necessarily true; if most vulnerable people have been vaccinated, why does it matter if 5 thousand 5-15 year olds get COVID with no symptoms and none of them die? Their parents and grandparents will be very low risk of getting infected as they have been vaccinated and I can take a safe bet, no one is going around kissing their grandma in the next few months. Of course, it's not a good outcome, but I would argue a better one than thousands of people losing their livelihoods, businesses, marriages.
  13. Now that is what I call safety.
  14. I am sure it will free up far more beds than 40,000 as we dramatically decrease heart disease, cancer, obesity and other major problems. Please take my comment with a caveat of taking the argument to it's extreme. But the point is that we are toeing a thin line here, and as soon as we make it compulsory to be vaccinated against COVID, where do we stop? Would you like to introduce a Flu jab certificate or a Measels certificate?
  15. That's exactly the point; we are literally shitting on individual liberties of people like it's no problem whatsoever. I say we should ban all sugary drinks and snacks, and let's throw in alcohol and smoking - we will save hundred's of thousands of lives, and within a generation, increase the life expectancy by 5 years minimum. Some might say that eating crap isn't infectious - say that to an 8 year old who sees his parents do it on daily basis.
  16. I am all for vaccinations and I think people get the vaccine when called up - I know I will. So my question is, knowing that Measels can be a deadly disease and statistically kills 1 in 500 people infected, should we introduce Measels passports in order to safely have a pint in the pub? (Please note the sarcasm in the 2nd sentence)
  17. Yes, but there is also a lot of fan cynicism; 'Kane is diving and is shit' 'Calvert Lewin was good for a month in 2020' 'Mount can clean Grealish boots' '5 Defenders? Vest wearing tw**' And these are just some of the mainstream opinions - no wonder an average fan is finding it hard to get behind that team. And it has always been the case since I've moved to England in 2005. I think it's the general negativity towards other teams in the Premier League which makes it harder to support individual players.
  18. It's not brave and outspoken until they change their social media profile picture.
  19. It is bullshit. France goal was both offside and handball.
  20. Allowing Gay marriage by legislation is not libertarian. A libertarian thing to do would be to take the government out of the picture when it comes to any kind of marriage - government can neither allow nor disallow it, it just wouldn't have any say in it. So I guess that brings your total down to 0
  21. Poland have a new manager and while I would normally say this is a routine England 3-0, there is talks of players being much further up the pitch to support Lewandowski. In my opinion Southgate is a poor manager so I guess he might be caught out by the tactic change. But on paper, still an easy England win.
  22. Because while the virus is clearly a dangerous infectious disease, it's also become a stick to hit people with. Imagine one crazy parent going ape shit for not deep cleaning something. It would backlash on the school badly. Same with outdoor dining - we could have opened restaurants that are able to offer outdoor seats ages ago with a caveat of proving customers are one household. But we decide not to, with more of a political than scientific reasoning.
  23. I'd be a a bit more cynical and say that international travel being delayed is due to two factors; caution by government, but more importantly, the desire to keep people spending money in Cornwall rather than in Cyprus or Ibiza. Once the summer comes, international travel ban will be a 'Eat out to help out' on steroids.
