  1. For sure From the realistic candidates, Jol is the one I'd like to see here.
  2. As everyone else has said, great article. Well done.
  3. Hah! Be great if he goes, if only to make Sullivan look like even more of a tool than he already does.
  4. Mate of mine is a Seasiders season-ticket holder, reckoned Bannan was very good last year and easily their most skillful player... also thought he was a little lightweight and needed another year in the championship before he was ready for the top flight.
  5. Good onya Harry. He's just gone right up in my estimation.
  6. Well there is but you only get to see their eyes. Give em a couple of eye patches and they could still do a striptease.
  7. Pfft, how can there be anything cruel or barbaric about the slow torturous death of an innocent animal for public entertainment?
  8. Well for example $500k in one country could be worth much more in another - cost of living expenses vary wildly between different countries, regardless of currency. Anyway, your suggestions really aren't within the spirit of football and free market capitalism :winkold:
  9. How do you decide what the maximum wage would be? You're dealing with a ton of different currencies and economies, it would simply be impossible to do, fairly or otherwise. Wage cap as a percentage of turnover is another option... but then you have things weighted unfairly towards the bigger clubs. As The Rev says, it'll never happen.
  10. Don't like the home kit. Away kit not too bad. Feel real sorry for Brad having to wear that eyesore... worst keepers kit we've had in a looooooong time. Oh well.
  11. If we sign Pennant or SWP I may have to reconsider my support for Villa.
  12. I remember last week you posting that Spain would win their semi and their final 1-0. Please advise next weeks winning lottery numbers.
  13. I won't watch it at all... getting up at 4.30am on a monday morning... nah, I think not!
  14. I think a return to the 1885-86 kit is in order myself.
  15. Hopefully we'll sell him soon so this thread will end.
  16. That, plus what Trent said. Plus the outrageous levels of diving and cheating in general these days, coupled with the death of any notion of sporting behaviour.

If the virus has gone and internet explorer doesn't work, i'd call that 100% success
  19. This idea about the game being slowed down by technology is nonsense. Watching on tv we knew within a couple of seconds that Lampard's shot had crossed the line. An official watching on a monitor could have informed the referee within ten seconds, no problem - and if we had a sensor in the ball it would have taken no time at all. Technology would waste no more time than a player rolling around on the ground feigning injury does, or than a goalkeeper does pissing around before taking a goal kick.
