  1. IIRC I dont think Westerweld, Cisse, Heskey, Smicer, Mcallister, Barmby and Biscan were that bad for Pool in THAT time. I´ll give you Diao, Traore and Vignal though... Mcallister was the only one of them that was any good,te rest where shite.. In fairness, Babbel was excellent before his illness. So that's 2 out of 17 that weren't bad.
  2. Houllier is: a) French Well past it c) Dreadful in the transfer market d) French 4 excellent reasons not to employ him.

This commonly means you have only 12 hours left to live.
  4. Yeh, that's why he drives me nuts. And it's all so predictable, you know it'll happen as soon as he makes the burst forward. I like the effort he puts in but.... where's the poll option for "meh"?
  5. Now there's six words you rarely hear together in the same sentence.
  6. Yeah, I think you're right. I think he knows that a lot of grief will come with the job, and he simply doesn't need it, or want it. Can't say I blame him. He should stay as reserve coach, where he's out of the spotlight and been doing an absolutely fantastic job... I suspect he'll be much happier doing that.
  7. I wish they'd just give Maradona the job and be done with it. We're not gonna win the league, so we may as well have some fun and excitement. (that's Diego, not the previous poster!)
  8. Yeah, I'd go with that defence. Young is just as good at left back as he is on the right, and Warnock has been shite since about xmas time.

Played my first game of football in 6 years at lunch time. Goddam I'm suffering now. Tomorrow will be sore-muscle hell.
  10. Yeah, see the West Ham situation bugs me. Have a lot of friends who are hammers fans, and always had a lot of time for the club. However with the two fuckwits they now have in charge I'm finding it impossible to like them... not helped by the way they can't stop mouthing off in the press about anything and everything. Tools, and as you say, a major irritant.
  11. I think the only obvious solution here is to gas a few million Jews. That should do it.
  12. Everything is setup to suggest that yes, you're right. However, I can't shake the idea that it's all going to go horribly wrong somehow... it's City, it always goes horribly wrong.

Pfft, speak for yourself. In my ideal world, I certainly don't have to pay for it.

I hate mushrooms telling me what I can and can't do as well.
  15. I think if he was injured in a match like Eduardo was it would be the case with Delph, but it was a training injury and as long as he is ok physically I think mentally he will be fine. You can't compare it at all to Eduardo, his leg was pretty well snapped in two! No surprise if the poor guy isn't quite the same after this: I should think Delph will be absolutely fine, barring any unforseen complications.
  16. I think the clubs I really dislike would be Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea and Spurs. I find it hard to dislike SHA and Newcastle, they just provide me so many moments of comedy gold.
  17. Everton deserve to lose for playing in that horrendous electric pink kit. My eyes, oh my eyes!
  18. I particularly liked his right footed shot fairly late in the game. Into the ground and wide from 10 yards. He was aiming for the tyre swing on the tree, not the goal.
  19. Agreed... but on balance, we still get the better of the deal.
  20. While my first choice would be Jol, I don't think Curbishley would be as bad as some are making out. He did a brilliant job at Charlton, and at West Ham he pulled of a minor miracle to save them from relegation, then gave them a top 10 finish. Sure, he's never managed a club of Villa's size, but there aren't really any negatives in his management record. However the idea of Southgate or Bradley taking over fills me with horror.
  21. I think that's the first time I've agreed with you on anything
  22. Yeah, everything was perfect before Man City got some cash Rampant capitalism has been screwing football for at least 15 years, City have just taken it up a notch.
  23. It's going to be incredibly difficult to get someone in who is as much of an egomaniacal, stubborn, self-serving, word removed as O'Neill. Your description of O'Neill could be applied equally well to Ferguson, Wenger, Mourinho... those are so often the traits of a successful manager.
