The penalty cost us the match. Worst time to do it and totally unnecessary. We had started the half with real fight. Terrible penalty also. No excuses tonight for him.

It’s been a long hard season with injuries and the lads look defeated today. Need to bounce back against Brighton.

Pathetic pen. If you’re not up for it let someone else take it.

It’s not good enough when the defence are too standoffish or play them offside or simply make basic errors. It’s normally just the keepers mistakes tonight. Too many players getting the basics wrong.

Still annoyed about Bailey's goal being ruled out. Set the tone.

Wasn’t a corner. But I would on question what Dougie is doing. Very soft. The rules stink but he shouldn’t be doing that.

Missed the first half but baffled by this decision. Shirt pull is 50/50 at best. The defender just takes a tumble needlessly

It was aimed at Ornstein who should know better. Transfer rumours are rubbish at the best of times. Tanswell wrote similar copy days later. Ornstein during the Jan window “But funds must be raised before the end of June to stay compliant with profit and sustainability rules and that has alerted suitors, who believe offers above £50million will at least be contemplated.” The next rumour was selling Duran to Chelsea. By March the club publish this that despite losses “we continue to operate within the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.“ https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2024/march/04/aston-villa-end-of-year-accounts/ Newcastle have legitimate FFP issues though and would be in no position to afford JJ so the story was entirely speculative from the get go.

We don’t need to sell for FFP at this stage. All the JJ stuff was purely speculative from The Athletic to prop up the Geordies.

Look at how bad the stitching is - I would not be surprised if they just took two designs and mashed it together

I’ve been to Turkey several times and seen the fakest shirts for teams like PSG and Real Madrid sold in markets. That shirt is so clearly a fake. I don’t see why it should be taken so seriously by anyone.

Gabby is toxic beyond words. Heskey’s insights make me loathe him and others from that era even more.

The General FFP (Financial Fair Play) Thread

Simply no evidence of that -
Again, there’s no confirmation of this. The vote today allows for a cap. The League will present its finalised proposal for clubs to vote on at the June AGM. We don’t know what the terms will fall under yet.

The General FFP (Financial Fair Play) Thread
The_Steve replied to Marka Ragnos's topic in Other Football
We could easily vote for a cap in June if the League presents a fair model. Let’s not be hasty now. -

We simply don’t know. The PL will make its proposal during the June AGM. Anything now is pure speculation. -
The General FFP (Financial Fair Play) Thread

The vote was to agree to the development of one, not to initiate one. There’s a huge important difference. -

Explains why the club would vote against such a measure -
We have a fantastic record against them. No need for that.
