  1. I liked the libs but not as much as my mates Said earlier they were like a punk band in comparison to the end of brit pop, oasis and phonics had gone to shit, manics weren't in the same league, it was heading towards bloated 5 minute long songs leaning towards the middle of the road, I was 18 and libs came out and it was a breath of fresh air, the tempo went up, in came the years of indie disco and they were incredible, I can understand why the libs were considered revolutionary with what they were doing, the Internet stuff and gorilla gigs was nuts, saw Pete play a pub with about 200 people, off his tits came on stage at 1am Bloc party was the one for me though, Silent Alarm blew me away I was the perfect age for it, 90s got me in to guitar music 00s was nightclubs playing up tempo guitar music
  2. I think it's because there's been no one like that since, Liam is still hugely popular with the lads lads lads crowd and the rest of that scene - courteeners, gerry cinnamon, pretty much anyone apart from the DMAs who are great - is utter garbage If you're a 21 year old kid now in to your music football raincoats beer and like a sniff you can almost guarantee that they'll be a massive oasis fan, they've never been surpassed, they were the band of my generation but the following generation has no one so they've stuck around
  3. I'm sure that was the Friday night Was a great weekend, went up saturday morning and I'm pretty sure we stayed in a room above the black and white pub in the centre of the city, the we didn't have oasis tickets so got some off a tout, subways and I'm sure doves supported, went back in to Manchester for a night out, saw 4 girls having squatting at the top of some steps to maybe the town hall or something like that... They were having a piss race down the steps, 5th avenue... Next day drove over to Bolton, had a session in the pub on the roundabout that you use for the football, watched Coldplay in the rain supported by elbow
  4. I think spurs have a get a name, they're already seen as pretenders and a joke that they've been stuck in this big 6 nonsense Can you imagine if they got dyche or Potter now? They'd be laughed out of town They'll get a manager who has been higher than they have, regardless of his age or current ability, they'll want "league winner" on his CV
  5. I didn't mind their first album either, that had a slightly different sound but then after that they went biege
  6. Change the example then What I mean is that they obsess over their own club but then show very little general knowledge or interest in football Hence there is usually little point trying to talk to them about football, they'll join in a conversation between wolves and villa fans taking the piss out of West Brom but their knowledge of all 3 clubs will be terrible, you mention something about utd and its like they've eaten the utd almanac
  7. Have you seen the 7 ages of rock series on BBC? I didn't realise it at the time but on reflection fully get it just how bad music got at the end of the 90s They go on to describe it as a punk 2nd wave with the strokes and the libs, from memory I ended the 90s with RHCPs as my favourite band
  8. I liked inside by stiltskin when I was a boy and it was on Now 93 or something like that, been wracking my brain for years as to what they were called
  9. Yeah exactly that, gravity went to number 1 I think and was written by Martin and embrace had a bit of a comeback, their album with good good people and come back to what you know was the one though, good album
  10. I'm in the video for fix you, was a gig at the Bolton stadium on a Sunday night, elbow supporting The Saturday night was oasis in the city of manachester stadium It was that much of a come down from the energy and crowd of the night before that I never saw them again, right miserable 6ft 10" **** with an umbrella stood right in front of me but because no one was moving or jumping or anything I couldn't find a way to get round him
  11. tipped to join newcastle again this morning his attitude in that environment would be perfect
  12. Saw them live a few times for the first and 2nd album, they were good tbf to them and Chris Martin was a good frontman, loads of interaction with the crowd without ever feeling like he was about to split them in to left and right and seeing who could cheer loudest... They're kind of cheesy without taking the piss and going full pop band Rush of blood to the head is a cracking album Gone right shit now though, gave up on them after the 5th album, they seem to have found a sound which makes them huge globally and that sound is shit
  13. From my experience the majority of die hard man utd fans, those that are so die hard that they have to wear the shirt round Morrisons on a week night, couldnt tell you what colour villas away kit is but could tell you the birthday of the left back in the their U18 team Weird bunch, ridiculously blinkered, love utd but seemingly don't like football that much And I'm not sure if the die hard stuff is symptomatic of being a glory hunter who lives 2 hours away from Manchester, like they have to show their support for their club more than normal fans to prove they're real fans rather than just glory hunters, theyre compensating for their inadequacies because deep down subconsciously they know what they are
  14. I don't, Leicester and West Ham can use CL to develop and pull away, Liverpool, arsenal, spurs etc will make changes to try and get back up there If West ham get 4th that's £100m added to their budget this summer, if Liverpool get 5th then they might let go of the purse strings If West get 5th then their spending will be normal, if Liverpool get 4th then the net spend world champion klopp will be eying up youth team players to sell to Bournemouth to make ends meet, I don't think Liverpool will get better if they finish 4th but they will if they finish 5th, I expect spurs to get better this summer because they failed so badly this year I'd rather the big six sleep walk to failure when we're ready to overtake them not someone else
  15. Does your body go through the same g forces when all it does is turn left? But seriously I'm not a F1 fan at all but I thought what made Hamilton a great driver was aggressive late braking which doesn't translate well in to Nascar but then also calculating and timing moves which would
  16. Maybe But at the same time they can't win the league, they won't be caught by 5th and beating Liverpool is far more important I then also think that this game is a big one for the mentality of the players, do you want to be here? Or just throw the towel in tonight cos everyone expected you to lose? VDB, telles, bailly, tuanzebe can all moan about wanting more games, Greenwood about playing Central striker rather than out wide, matic and mata about being sent out to pasture, there should be more than enough of them with something to prove
  17. Sean Harris is one of those actors that I always feel just needs that one role in that one film to really take off... This won't be it
  18. I've just realised that this fixture congestion they're moaning about is because of their fans getting the game called off They can absolutely get to **** the words removed
  19. Did away with it with the 25 man squad rule, there are no "weakened" teams anymore
  20. About half way in you have the first battle where you call on all the counties you've befriended to come to your aid, without trying to be too Spoilery something happens to someone... And I genuinely didn't have a clue who that someone was... I've done another 4 or 5 counties since then, nothing sticks The gameplay and what have you is still OK, the basic mechanics of it all is fine but another example I have to spend hours building up to hunting down and killing the blade or something from the order, by the time I get to the man himself I've forgotten who he even is or how I got there
  21. Probably comes from the days when they started the phone in poll with 20 odd minutes left
  22. 1 of them definitley, 2 of them maybe, all 3? Dont think it will happen anymore Too many squads will need too much work
  23. I used to love the mosconi cup on sky Edit - 2021 edition starts 6th June
  24. I can't look past Radcliffe being a posh twunt if I'm honest, I'm predujiced against him because of his accent, cant shake the whole Tim nice but dim routine out of my head any time I've seen him interviewed That's despite knowing that hes not silver spooned
