Dion Dublin, Alan Thompson, Chris Sutton, Dwight Yorke and the legend that is Didier Agathe all played in Celtic v Man U legends last night. Although Larsson stole the show, he could still do a job somewhere. -
Well Bent has been taken on by one and all. I'm sure if he comes out firing this season fans will love him just like they will turn around if Big Eck wins his first few games. Us fans can be a fickle bunch.

One issue was that he let his man go who went onto hit the post. I'm sure big Eck will have a word, tracking back was one of AY's strong points so that will be missed.

Got to say I was surprisingly impressed with him getting into tackles and some nice movement and touches with Bannan and Heskey. Will some one with more discipline behind him he may get even better.

I'd defo take him I know he has had all sorts of issues in the past and he comes with baggage but he now seems to have sorted his head out also on the pitch he would be a great addition for us or someone else.

I think it could be argued in the Fonz's case he just is not better than other options we had available. I can see the point of view if they are good enough, they are old enough however this generally works best in a sucessful side as they are coming into a winning environment rather than a pressure cooker. Personally I would wait for the cup games to come along and maybe the of sub appearance if we are leading as see how it goes from there.

Glad he's signed for 5 years its gives us some security. He was the obvious choice to replace Young/Downing and will add some much needed flair and goals from midfield.

Doesn't sound so stupid to me, if that's what will get him and there aren't many better options than that then pay what they are looking for. We wanted more for Downing, Liverpool paid it because they wanted him. This is even less stupid when you realise we will probably sell him to Plop, Manure or Citeh in two years time for double our money. :winkold: Exactly

Glad he won't be around for the annual embarrassment of being booed by his own fans in a pre-season friendly at Walsall. Hopefully we'll have sepnt the money gained from him by then. Its back to the drawing board time for AVFC.
