  1. On the plus side, imagine being told they would be sold for 30 million before either of them between them has played more than a handful of games for the first team.
  2. I thought he had a dead leg when it happened and was quite suprised by talk of lengthy injury. Hopefully for once I was right, lad needs to get his smile back by playing good football, for us, if we can't move him on for what we paid.
  3. Price seems to have almost doubled since we were originally linked with him
  4. That's like saying Again people thinking he judged the keepers leg positions and balance and nut megged him on purpose. He didn't, he hit it and it was fortunate to go through the keepers legs bearing in mind he hit it pretty much the only place where the keeper was. It went in, it was a goal, but I find it bizarre anyone would think it was a deliberate brilliant piece of calculated skill to put it between the keepers legs when he had the entire goals to aim at. As I say I don't care as long as it goes in but be real
  5. He played well, not sure it can successfully be argued he didn't. Yes his goal when you watch the replays, was fortunate to go through the keepers legs, but it went in from a shot on goal I don't care how we score or who scores as long as they count. He does however still have a fair way to go to showing he is a reliable player. I think some games he is going to look terrible, mainly against fast powerful teams, he doesn't seem to want to know in those games, but normally oddly enough, puts in half decent performances against man ure. With zaniolo as an option now Leon will have to get more reliable.
  6. He's going to have to share minutes this season. He took a whack when colliding with the post so was probably taken off to protect him. There needs to be a cut off for contract signing as he clearly isn't at his best at the moment for what ever reason and having his future sorted out for the next 4 years, hopefully will clear his mind a bit.
  7. Dominant performance against a normally physical team. Once the 4th went in we just played keep ball for the rest of the game. Saves getting any more injuries or putting any more stress on the players. Mcginn was the instigator for our forward play, but i was an Everton fan, I wouldn't be happy with those goals conceded. Watkins doing the decent thing and stepping away from taking the penalty, I'm sure if it were 3 nil he would have taken it. Had 2 or 3 great chances but either just wide or just couldn't reach the ball. Big phil I'm hoping , has a dead leg looking at the replays. However his reaction indicates something far worse. The only player who looked a bit out of sorts was cash, I'm not saying he played badly, just not as good as the rest I guess ? Nice to see duran get a goal, in an ideal world, archer would have got 1 as well. Back to 0 goal difference and 3 points on the board, can't ask for much more than that. Well done
  8. Started off lively. Some of our forward play seems a bit too tippy tappy but also some lovely play mixed in there. Atmosphere went down after the 1 minute applause and hasn't really managed to lift itself yet, but that's mirrored by on the pitch pace which has been at a controlled pace. We're playing the tactics issued pretty bang on at the moment and should really have 1 or 2 more goals to show for our play. Hopefully we can slightly increase the tempo which should raise the crowd and maybe grab a couple more to restore our goal difference.
  9. One or 2 in the squad have raised an eyebrow, though a few were injured ? But there they are, on the team sheet. Hopefully whoever plays does the business and we take the 3 points
  10. I thought Saville were in big debt and needed to sell their highest paid players ? A quick 10 mill and a player off their wages should help, bearing in mind he's now 30 ish and not considered to be one of the very best left backs in the world ?
  11. Fk knows what happened there ? Their story claimed that the 25-year-old is expected to sign the contract ‘by 4pm’ (3pm in England), and will arrive from Galatasaray on a loan with a right for redemption. Zaniolo is in Birmingham with his father and his staff, ready to complete the move. Meanwhile, CalcioMercato.it journalist Alessio Alento also confirms the move, and brings more details about it. According to him, the documents were signed ‘a few minutes ago’. Aston Villa are reportedly spending €3.5m on the loan, and will have a right to buy the player for €20m. Given his previous knee issues, it would be no surprise if there were at least slight concerns over the situation. It’s quite possible Aston Villa secured last minute concessions from Galatasaray.
  12. Various places saying villa was to renegotiate the deal due to injury concerns. This one's become very frustrating. Other places saying Acuna should be signing for us today or tomoz. What would normally be exciting and entertaining is becoming frustrating due to our current injury list.
  13. Luckily, your Mrs will have more time on her hands, once she's opened your beer she can nip down the shops for your fags and snacks
  14. I can help you further. Don't have kids Unless you want any disposable income gone, nice holidays gone, chill out time gone, nice car swapped for sensible car, less sex, sleepless nights and any sense that anything you own is now not yours. And if you do split up from the mother, 15% of your wages gone for potentially 20 years.
  15. Wasn't the torres announcement in the evening? If it wasn't for the rumours of failed medical, I'm sure people would be less impatient, me included.
  16. Apparently 4pm is the new Wednesday.
  17. Romano states 2nd ( main) part of medical is this morning and signing this afternoon. Presume a more indepth medical was required ?
  18. Ollie watkins v the rest of the team trying to stop him ?
  19. I get you, it didn't really come into my thinking until I expected us to spend 100 to 150 million each season improving our team once we came back up and then realising there's no chance of that happening especially now we are in Europe, unless we are wiser with our transfer buying and selling. Something we have been terrible at for a long time.
  20. Revan was decent in preseason in his limited time on the pitch.
  21. Transfers are hit and miss financially, digne was signed under our owners, as was big phil. I'm pretty sure the majority of Villa fans would be ecstatic if we could get back the transfer fees for both and take a combined 250k pw wages off the books in order to be able to replace them with more suitable players. I'm sure emery, if he isn't keen on using either of them would also be, due to having more freedom to try and get who he wants. Just like sponsorship, villa Park developments, the academy, selling unwanted or partially used expensive sognings for decent money, all of it is needed to improve our 1st team while complying with FFP. Improving our 1st team with players who the manager wants and will use, gives us the best chance of success on the pitch, something all villa fans want.
  22. FFP means that most fans DO care as it effects the entire spending capabilities of the club not just now but in the future. Gone are the days of 'just spunk another 25 million, our owners are billionaires'
