  1. Well that was **** beautiful. Delighted for Wes. We are indeed back! Thanks for the reassurance Terry
  2. Agreed, although I think it suits us playing footballing sides. His Brentford style is starting to tell! Rejoice we have a team that plays football again
  3. Indeed. We might question some of his decisions, but if there's one thing he and Terry know about it's decent Central Defenders and we have two corkers!
  4. Excellent!!! This match suits Jota. We might just be finding our stride. Keep. It. Up. Villa!
  5. I frequently enjoy the realistic optimism of your posts Terry and mostly agree. In your opinion, how many consecutive losses could we sustain before your optimism started to wane?
  6. IF he flops, he wouldn't be the first striker to come with a decent reputation elsewhere, flop for us and then promptly return to form elsewhere. It's still an IF though, for now.
  7. I was honestly surprised by your readiness to consider dropping him so soon. Consider it a shocked laughter rather than a dismissive one if it helps.
  8. He is not immune from criticism, but it would take a lot more than he has done wrong so far for him to lose his place, in my opinion. Dropping a goalkeeper happens when they have had several consecutive howlers and it appears their head has gone. He's nowhere near that and the good he's shown is far greater than the bad in my opinion. That's why you got a lol.
  9. Sadly true. Losing becomes a demoralising, self fulfilling habit.
  10. I didn't say he was the answer, I referred to our flaccid options. He would have been an option. Doesn't look like we have any dangerous ones at the minute.
  11. The defensive left back died off in the ice age. You have to be able to do both these days. Didn't help that El Gahzi was cack again today though.
  12. He's already scored for Brighton, another lower half team and wanted to come. Our strike options look flaccid.
  13. Yup, exactly what we feared would happen is happening. Should have bought Maupay.
  14. Very very disappointing. A game we could and should have won if we had played the way did in the second half throughout. Again plenty of promise but we are going to struggle all year if we don't cut out the mistakes and take our chances. Trez decent, Luiz at times excellent, El Gahzi and Wesley look a bit out of their depth, I'm afraid. Two games, two losses. Need a point against Everton and I'd take a draw now.
  15. Billings should have been sent off three times already. We have killed ourselves in this game. Much easier said than done but cut out the mistakes and we can be okay. It's a big if though. Hard to get out of the bad habits and losing when it gathers momentum. Some decent play though. After his cock up, Luiz looked very good. Lots of bad luck in the game for us again with the deflected second, the blatantly missed sending off more than once and the Trez miss near the end. Still in it, but we need to score next.
  16. I'll happily eat my words if he does anything remotely like that.
  17. It's all about the obligatory shite soundtrack. Listen to it for more than 30 seconds and you will eventually slip into a deep, pop-trance-coma, where neat touches and muscular shoulder barges convince you the goals are coming in the next bit.
  18. If I am willing to accept that it made sense to play Taylor against Tottenham for his defensive abilities alone, then can his supporters please explain why they want him to play against Bournemouth, whom we absolutely should be attacking more and having more of the ball against? Before answering, don't forget, he refuses to attack, so by picking him we would necessarily be limiting ourselves... in my opinion.
