  1. Decent against a good Brighton team. You can see what Gerrard is trying to do - pressing high - and it looks to have potential. McGinn our best player but also indebted to Martinez. Could go either way in the second half. Score first and I think we will win.
  2. Agree, we don't have to love him, professional is enough... if he gets results.
  3. He sounds professional and determined, but it remains to be seen if his take no prisoners, 'elite expectations' will be met by the players. Only takes one bad egg, as Gabby will attest. Hope he succeeds and I'm sure I'll come round if he does, but it's weird that it's him. He isn't easy to love, however sure-footed he sounds.
  4. Are you honestly trying to tell me that supporting Aston Villa brings with it the potential of disappointment?
  5. If there's a more predictable next action than AEG cutting inside and losing the ball during an unsuccessful dribble, I can't think of one. Wingers are supposed to be mercurial and have the ability to surprise. He must lose possession 75%-80% of the time. It certainly feels like that.
  6. Whomever comes next IS going to be another punt. You just know it. They need to make a statement by getting a name to maintain the illusion of 'continuous progress', but they also have to be realistic because we are a shambles, so we ain't getting anyone next level. It will be a compromise somewhere between those two positions... it'll be could work, but probably won't punt like Gerrard. Rogers won't come, so before anyone says it, I do know that, but a manager of his calibre would sort us out in no time.
  7. Adkins was doing alright, they weren't in free fall. What 'next level manager' relishes the prospect of arresting a slide?
  8. He looks like the luxury he is unfortunately, which is a shame because there's no doubt he's talented. Do we need an unpredictable trickster or someone who can put his foot on the ball and pick a pass? He ain't the latter. Impact sub at best currently.
  9. Agreed, just as winning breeds success, losing can become a habit and we are currently only heading in one direction. We need to interfere with the momentum before it becomes unstoppable.
  10. Doing something isn't much of an accolade, is it?
  11. It's time. Better second half, but not enough to save him. We look desperate, disorganised and doomed to a relegation battle. Something has to give. Smith out.
  12. He's got one half to save himself. That was shit again. Certainly not the significant improvement needed.
  13. That could well mean writing off a whole half a season and by that point we could well be in the relegation zone.
  14. Yes, we are known for giving anyone with a Blues connection a fair crack of the whip.
  15. All game, too much room for the opponent to run at us and get a shot away. We are scared of them. Weak.
