  1. Haven't heard it for a while and it would be a mistake to say it again until we have some semblance of our preferred team on show. If Europe being the aim is said again then Smith will definitely be under pressure.
  2. Delphino is bantering you by using the contemporary lingo, innit. As is his wont.
  3. Freakish logic in full effect. The fat lady is warming up mate.
  4. I imagine the expectation has already been dialled back by the board this season.
  5. Maher says we are done barring an unexpected late twist. Not expecting any more ins.
  6. No, he looked good. Needs to add some muscle, but was good.
  7. Technically he is a new signing - that doesn't mean he will be be good, or that we should be excited when he finally turns up, but he is someone that will be expected to contribute fairly quickly.
  8. We aren't going to buy one. Give up on that now. What we've got will suffice for now. Top half finish is the aim, top six would be a massively overachieving unexpected result.
  9. Hard fought point. We need our first choice central defenders back, but plenty of positives. Chuk played a great first half. The team showed plenty of attacking endeavour but also competed well throughout. We adapted well to the loss of key players, there was a first goal for Buendia, who also put a shift in and Ollie back up front looked sharp! Lots to enjoy.
  10. I enjoyed that - good game of football. Chuk is ready - some lovely touches. Centre backs a bit wobbly, but otherwise we showed some nice attacking purpose. Super to see Buendia off the mark!
  11. If there's one thing we know, it is that the modern Villa have the ability to produce almost any kind of result, so a win today is certainly very possible. That saif, if they score first we could struggle. Would be lovely to go into the break with a win and three more points, but I would be happy with a point.
  12. There's a Witsel thread, where people are saying he's too old, but sign him anyway.
  13. If he leaves, he will go to the team that meets the selling club's price and the one that offers him the most money. He might also consider likelihood of regular playing time and the buying club's prospects this season, but they will be minor compared to the financial rewards offered.
  14. Pop was the last to successfully achieve that in the mid to late eighties.
  15. Most are BS, but dismissing them all automatically is a mistake. Sometimes news does come from there first.
  16. Rumours that Harroui is signing for Forest not us...
  17. Definitely keeps his place for me. Excellent today.
  18. They do deserve praise, agreed. I would say the main reason for that is that there were three of them and they all played in the right position for their skillset. Genius!
  19. I know what you mean re: Martinez, he went from zero to hero last season, so probably a little overwhelmed by the success he he's had and undoubtedly deserves, but it may have gone to his head a bit. No doubt he will refocus.
  20. Glad to be proved wrong. Ramsey stepped up, but our midfield as a whole looked much better as a three. Newcastle shit. Young also superb. Delighted we have Ings.
