  1. Wow! Without him they'd have scored 7 or 8. One of the few players who can leave that game with any credit. He seems to be another whose face just doesn't fit. He'll be this seasons scapegoat I reckon.
  2. Well he'd get about 52 if only he could play against us judging by today.
  3. My concern is who'd actually want the job now. We've got a horribly unbalanced squad and no money to spend to sort it out.
  4. He's gonna take a battering on here tonight but I feel sorry for the guy. He's being asked to do way too much. He looks to me like a decent goal scorer but to lump the ball up to him or into the channels just isn't gonna work. It's not his game and why Bruce signed him with this tactic in mind I have no idea.
  5. I definitely don't wish this. He singlehandedly kept us in the league for me. The start of this season is how last season would have gone without him as shown by the couple of months he was off at the African cup of nations.
  6. Don't worry - if we carry on like this we'll be out of this league in no time!
  7. Can we bring him back in? At least he can break into a jog which is more than a lot of our players can.
  8. What a completely pathetic job this man has done. I'm not sure what the plan was but it's not worked. We're in a worse position than when he joined for me. We play dreadful football that is also completely ineffective. We've let better players go than what we now have in our squad. To say we could be 5 or 6 down against Cardiff wouldn't be exaggerating. Surely we've seen enough?
  9. Yeah I'd like to see someone come in (even on loan potentially) who could provide cover at centre back. Watching Samba yesterday left me thinking there must be one of the kids who could step up and do a better job than that. Colchester players were just running straight past him so I dread to think what would have happened if he'd been called on against Hull with Grosicki and Campbell running at the defence.
  10. @OutByEaster? Try this. Not really posted a link before so may not work!!
  11. I think he'll start the majority of games. He'd only signed the day before the Hull game from what I remember so it probably just came a bit soon for him to get the start.
  12. I'd agree he was dreadful against Hull but for me he was decent when he played last season. He's also been no worse than Lansbury or Hourihane since they've joined for me. i suppose the next question is who do we boo now? I'll guess at Hogan if he goes a few games without a goal or Johnstone if he makes the slightest mistake.
  13. Yeah I'd agree with this. A better utility player than Barney from what I've seen so far so I think it'll further reduce the squad depth. The only thing that makes me think it's wise to sell is the negativity brought to the ground by some fans' reaction to him.
  14. I actually agree with you but we definitely didn't play a formation like that at all. We played a back 4, Whelan sitting deep with Bacuna and Lansbury slightly ahead of him, Gabby and Emo on the wings and Hogan up front. We should have had the game won in the first half, he should have brought Green on sooner and even then we still should have won the game if Green had taken the easiest of chances.
  15. I haven't seen this at all. If anything he seems to be given much more leeway than most and rightly so given his young age. His end product is pretty awful at the moment but he gets away with it whereas Adomah seemed to get a lot of stick despite having the joint most assists in the league last year. It's probably just where you're sitting to be fair. Where I am there's people that will constantly criticise certain players even when they're having good games so maybe you've just got people who are like that with Green. It's far worse for other players from a larger number of people from what I've heard.
  16. I think you've largely missed the point. I feel little sympathy for him as I don't think he should be starting games. However the reaction to his substitution is embarrassing and does more harm than good. It creates an atmosphere where players will fear to make mistakes and with it being the first competitive game at villa park for a number of players its ridiculous. Id also add the constant referring to Gabby as fatboy and the constant criticism of Bruce from a decent number of people in the Holte to a list of embarrassing ways to support your team. I keep seeing people referred to as Bruce fans, Gabby lovers, Bacuna supporters etc. for not agreeing with the constant abuse of certain personnel around the club. I don't particularly want Bacuna playing but cheering his substitution is pathetic and makes our fans look silly imo.
  17. I've never seen anyone suggest he should be playing because he takes a good free kick. He did have a pretty poor game yesterday but he wasn't helped in that second half by Lansbury who I thought had an absolute shocker of a half but unsurprisingly didn't get the same negative reactions from the crowd as Bacuna. I think he is useful as a squad player but unfortunately the crowd reaction to him has reached a point where he needs to move on. The reaction to his substitution was completely embarrassing imo. The manager and Terry go on and on about how the crowd can help over the season and that's how we respond. If I was Onomah I'd be seriously worried about the atmosphere at a club I'd just signed for.
  18. Seriously? I was at the game so have only seen the goal live but didn't look like a mistake at all to me. Thought he had a good game. Looked great coming off his line and his kicking was good particularly out to elmohamady on the right wing. Decent double save at the end off the first half too. Looks like he could have a decent future to me and carried on with his decent form from the end of last season.
  19. This wasn't really the difference as the ball would have run away for four anyway. The helmet cost a run. The two powerplays were the difference. Bears need to find someone who can bowl half decently in the powerplay and I wouldn't mind seeing a big hitter pushed up to open to try and get us off to a flyer with the bat.
  20. Yeah I'd agree with this. He didn't live up to the hype (allegedly attitude issues) but when he first broke through he wasn't dreadful at all. Scored a few goals for us and genuinely looked alright. I think his major issue at Villa was that he came through at a time when we had some very good attacking players and he was never able to get a consistent run of games. I'd actually argue that Delfouneso showed a lot more in his first couple of seasons than Andre Green has so far. There doesn't seem to be much end product from Green at the moment. What I would say is that I don't think anyone could really doubt Green's application and work ethic and that stands him in good stead for fulfilling his potential in a better way than Delfouneso. Additionally, the fact that the competition for his spot seems to be Barney who looks out of place there means he's likely to get a lot more opportunities this season to have a serious run of games.
  21. Thanks for that - makes sense as I suppose there is a market for that main event channel only. Must be a slow day for sport if us against Hull is the main event on a Saturday evening!!
  22. I'm not sure why but they've rebranded all of their channels and now sky sports main event shows whatever is considered "main event" out of what is on all of the other channels. Not sure who chooses and how they choose but essentially sky sports main event shows something which is already on another channel all of the time as far as I can tell. Must be a reason but I'm not sure what it is!
  23. He could genuinely be a good signing to be fair. Another option to play in behind the striker or on the wing. Would imagine signing for Villa would bring out the best in him as well with his desire to do well here. Also what a great story it would be for him and also for VT!
