    Should we redevelop VP and the North Stand in particular could we not look at having the corners of the ground filled in to raise the capacity a little too? I'm sure something like this was mooted at one point under Lerner but never came to fruition. Having said that, I do agree with others in this thread that have said that we should focus on the team first and get ourselves back in to the Prem before we start expanding the stadium. I can't remember the last time we filled VP for two games on the trot so there's little point in doing it right now.

    I can't believe they actually have a busy Villa thread on their forum! I've just had to go and have a look because I didn't think that that level obsession even existed, but I was very, very wrong. They've even said that they think we'll come out of this smelling roses so they need to rip the piss out of us as much as possible now because they likely won't be in a position to do it again anytime soon. You couldn't make it up.

    I'd be surprised if they removed VP. Although I don't use it all that much, especially in Ultimate Team as I reckon it's the cause for my recent losing streak

    My main issue is that he's never rebuilt a squad. I think we need someone tried and tested at steadying the ship and while I think Pearson is a bit of a rocket polisher I think he could fix Villa. RDM on the other hand... Do you think he could handle the big time charlies in the squad? How would he cope with Gabby, Lescott et al? I think he'd drown.

    I like RDM as a bloke but I think he'd be completely wrong for AVFC in it's current state. As someone intimated earlier, he's another Garde or Sherwood type appointment. A big no from me sadly.

    Agree with the above. Ship him out and start with Clarke and Baker at the back. At least going down gives us a chance to finally use the likes of Baker, Gardner and all the other youngsters which have been deemed exciting at one point or another.

    Well it doesn't really state that he's been snubbed. It just states that there were reports earlier this week that he was interested, albeit from The Sun.

    I don't understand that statement, or even why it's called a statement. It's more of a ramble than anything. Maybe this is why he doesn't speak very often because he's clearly not very good at it .

    I was here when thetrees first joined VT and started giving out little nibbles of information based on what he did for a living. The guy has been brilliant for all who use this board and has given us a lot of hope over the years. Anyone who even remotely says any different is an idiot IMO. Keep at it, dude.

    Have to disagree with the comments on Beye. I don't think he was "brilliant" at Newcastle and whenever he's played for Villa he's been nothing but a liability. He almost single handedly got us knocked out of the Europa League last year.

    Given has been one of the best keepers in the Prem for years along with Friedel and Jaaskelainen. Absolutely quality signing. Well done to everyone involved!

    Well I doubt McLeish was really thinking who Villa were goin to replace Friedel with when he was at Blues. Dont forget that any plans Houllier had would have been with his scout and doesn't apply to AM now.
