  1. If we steal a goal here this will be hailed a great performance, ship one and it'll be deemed a disaster
  2. No doubt if we'd played 4-5-1 and lost people would be on here complaining about the fact that we changed from 4-4-2, which had won us the past 4 games including the one at Old Trafford. Everyone's a wannabe football manager
  3. We got lucky last week against Stoke with the ref wrongly ruling out the Sidibe goal and today that was reversed with the wrngly ruled free kick Fabregas is in the top 3 players in the world ATM and he showed it today. Till his introduction it looked ike all the matchwinners from both sides were not going to deliver. I think 2-0 would have been fairer but its done now. Bring on Liverpool, would like to see a little rotation. Anyone know which game Young is banned for?
  4. Tampax have announced they will be Tiger Woods new sponsor A spokesman said "This is what Tampax is all about, supporting a word removed going through a bad period"
  5. Saw Paramore at Wembley Arena on Friday and was amazed by Hayley Williams. The quality of her vocal and the showmanship she put on as lead person was nothing short of brilliant. Admittedly she could have had anybody on the instruments behind her as it's quite simply her band, but I would recommend to anyone to go see her
  6. I'm sure he'll look at his bank balance tomorrow and take solace in that
  7. You say every season that Spurs will finish above villa which must mean you believe Spurs to be better (either that or you're thick) so it is a claim you have made!
  8. What like the past 2 seasons? Do you want me narrow it to the first 12 games of this season when the clubs have played differing sides?
  9. The one thing I just can't fathom is: If all the Spurs players are better than the Villa players, then why do Villa finish above Spurs?
  10. I view it as Lennon is in if Walcott is injured, if not it will be Theo and Beckham. Down the left will be Milner and Joe Cole although Downing and Ashley Young would have something to say about that!
  11. The key is Villa>Spurs, Proof: the last two seasons league positions because until 38 games have been played the league table is fairly irrelevant. But still my favourite post is GS saying that Spurs have some players in their squad who have missed out on finishing in the top 4 as a boast. Because in simple terms: Top 4 = somewhere, everywhere else = fairly irrelevant for the likes of Villa, Spurs, Man City, Everton.
  12. Must admit in 1990 didn't pay any attention to who finished lower than 2nd as didn't need to. I think the fact they haven't finished in the top 4 in nye on the last 20 years highlghts their status as a cup side and nothing more
  13. I reckon it's earlier than 1990. GS comes round here spouting about how Spurs will finish top 4, when the last time they did it was in excess of 20 years ago. I'm just pointing out to him how unrealistic an assumption he is making
  14. If you can't work out where the £106m comes from I give up to be honest I don't care what Spurs have spent the same as I don't care what Man City have spent, I care where my side finishes after 38 games, if the Spurs fans did there'd be less of them I sense When was the last time you won the race? You still haven't answered?! Yep, to ensure he didn't go out of contract and leave for no fee, you'll notice the year before when Liverpool came knocking they were told where to go, unlike Spurs who happily sold Keane, Berbatov and Carrick when the offers came in. Barry was effective last year so you point doesn't hold water in these parts. I think MON has far more control in not accepting bids than Redknapp, I've quoted examples above of where the Spurs board are happy to sell whereas Randy backs MON's decision even if it did reduce the sale price by £2-6m What the hell has the purchase of a stadium got to do with the playing staff? Spurs are a selling club, the business might be buying, land but the club is selling it's best players. Get used to the idea, the same as your used to not finishing in the top 4! Rest assured I won't be quitting my profession based on a deluded Spurs fan's opinion of my reading of accounts, nor did I take your advice to back a Ramos managed Spurs side to finish above villa at the start of last season
  15. I've highlighted the point that matters. Spurs are a cup side and will not finish in the top 4, get used to the idea, in fact when was the last time Spurs did actually finish in the top 4? But none of these others happened in the last summer. In addition you stated in a previous post that Spurs broke even on Davenport, which according to your specifics above they did not. I suggest you make your mind up as when you talk money I'll remember the figures. All those financials prove to me is that Spurs are a selling club and thus will fail to break the top 4 as they will always sell their best players. Come back with that year of when Spurs last finished in the top 4, I suspect it might take you a while though!
  16. So despite selling nearly £106m worth of talent Redknapp has still had to spend additional money to assemble an average injury prone squad. Impressive Till that point it was Ramos, who a certain poster reassured us was going to do great things for Spurs and make them a top 4 club. I sense this figure is reached by saying that Bent was sold for £17m whereas a large percentage of this £17m fee doesn't become Spurs' until he scores the world cup final winning goal (or some such other ridiculous clause) In real life accounting we use the fair value whereby the likelihood of a balance becoming realistic is used, hence the Bent sale figure is probably nearly £10m than £17m They have also announced a decrease in revenue of 1.1% but you glossed over that and given the sales of assets figure is so high it is actually the turnover figure which is will be viewed as more relevant by economists. Trust me I'm a qualified accountant!
  17. Pleased to be through at the end of the season no-one cares whether you won the cup by progressing through every round on penalties they just care that you won the cup
  18. Maybe one of the right backs on the bench is better at taking penalties than the other :|
  19. It's amazing that some people are quite keen to say X is better than any villa player, yet as soon as they pull on a villa shirt they quite happily slate them, Sidwell being a prime example with everyone saying how much better he was than our midfield because he was at Chelsea and now...
  20. Oh look the TV star has graced us with his preence aren't we lucky :winkold:
  21. Christ we've lost before kick off against Man City at home, god help us when we play Man Utd away
