  1. A player being linked means nothing in the slightest though. You shouldn't feel anything different regarding a player linked. When a player signs it's different though. He's moved club into new circumstances with new teammates and a new manager. Absolutely no reason to write any new villa signing off until theyve at least had a couple of dozen matches in the first team. Some players dramatically improve overnight after a transfer, while others get worse. It's to the manager to know what he's getting and how it fits in, really. That's typically not something fans are ever privy to. For someone like Townsend, if Sherwood wants him then he wants him for a reason. He knows him, has seen him up close, and will have a very good idea what he's capable of. Far more an idea than me or anyone here. For me, I don't rate the player all that much, but if the manager, who has seen a lot of him, identifies him for a specific role at the club, then I've no reason to carry over my prejudices
  2. Not true at all . School years start from September to August. What's that got to do with a kid born in January being 10 months older than a kid born in November? They would be in different school years . Not necessarily. For example, I was born in May 1983, yet I was in the same class as kids born in June-December 1982, and Jan-April 1983 They were all older than me, but same age group for any school sports
  3. Seen this a few times in the last couple of weeks and feel the need to, not be a grammar nazi by any stretch, but just issue a minor correction in case people use it in the real world and end up getting quiet sniggers from behind the hands of others... It's actually "plied his trade", or "to ply one's trade", rather than apply one's trade, with "ply" meaning "practicing or performing diligently" a trade

  5. Are people really getting into semantics about a silly comment that clearly wasnt supposed to be taken as being genuinely serious? Do you all get into heated debates when someone says if they didn't have bad luck they'd have no luck, too?
  6. The Wilshire thing just looks like posturing to Liverpool I think. They make a final bid for sterling and then leak that they've moved on to another target to make Liverpool worry they may have missed the boat to cash in
  7. 50 goals between Andi and Bent next season IMO
  8. Not sure if posted, but loltacular Soren Lorensen @stamp_1878 Got some very interesting #efc news re: Deulofeu - the incompetence of which will shock even the biggest board critics Soren Lorensen @stamp_1878 It's stalling because the 'spanish speaker' at the club misinterpreted 30million euros as 3million euros. #efc now trying to save face 11:25 AM - 18 Jun 2015
  9. i actually really like the idea of just flying around, exploring, seeing new things and being the one who discovered stuff. it's a pretty fantastic concept IMO, and fine way to spend a few hours every evening
  10. Got bored of my cushy government job in Ireland and moved to Canada in 2009, just about beating the worst of the crash. Met my future wife, haven't done a day's hard work (beyond writing and designing, which doesn't count) and absolutely love it. Just been approved for permanent residency, and then in 2 years I'll be taking Canadian citizenship. Certainly not planning on returning home any time soon. Previous to that I lived in Wolverhampton for a year for uni in 2002/03, not sure that counts though
  11. yeah it was disappointing, seeing as its the only PS4 exclusive launching this year they should have hyped it up, no ratchet and clank, project morpheus was really quiet, no vita stuff, no GT7, no everybodys gone to rapture, no let it die, no tearaway unfolded, no hellblade, no persona 5 they did a great job of making multiplat games seem theirs but what they showed of their exclusives was pretty poor Gamescom is still to come
  12. I've been approved for permanent residency in Canada way sooner than I expected. Hope to have everything signed, sealed and delivered within a month. Delighted
  13. I'd take really silly money for him to be honest. I'm talking anything north of £25m silly

    Shenmue

Cleverest pre-ordering campaign I've ever seen

    Xbox One

That's confirmed. And it's comparable to a run of the mill gaming keyboard, so although that kind of price is alien to console gamers, it's actually pretty reasonable in the PC sphere
  16. Guerrilla make very pretty games, so I wouldn't be so sure Killzone is possibly one of the most infamous E3 bullshots trailers to have ever occurred. Guerrilla have dirty hands when it comes to over promising on reveal visuals. Shadow Fall remains one of the best looking games ever made?
  17. Surely all that's left is Gabe popping out to confirm HL3
  18. FF VII remake confirmed Multi platform - first on PS4
  19. Guerrilla make very pretty games, so I wouldn't be so sure the point is to get to the centre of the galaxy, if you want to play it in a way that has a point otherwise, the point is to play the game to play the game
  20. Gonna have to warn the wife that November isn't going to be a good month for her Her accent was simply splendid though I suspect Ubisoft's is going to be every bit as bad as EAs was
  21. EA shouldn't do a presser This is straight up the worst thing ever Audience give a toss level: -12
  22. id love to see a summary of every year's e3 fifa bit, because im pretty sure they say the exact same stuff every year. all those improvements they're making, creating the "best balance ever". every. single. year. this really is the worst presentation i think ive ever seen Authenticity my bollox... female keepers can't dive that far
