  1. Why? Because they're the very same kind of player
  2. Good chance Sanchez is off after this signing then?

    Carles Gil

I can't see Gil working as anything other than a wide man
  4. Tried to use Tapatalk a few times but found it nowhere near as user friendly as the mobile version in Chrome. Always wondered if many people used it
  5. Now it makes sense. He's taking the armband off, Jack's not happy about it, benteke is praying that he's next and gabby is telling everyone to say nothing about it all
  6. lol, okie doke He's being called "scum" for essentially moving to a job with a bigger company for more money. I assume you've stuck with the paper round you got when you were 10 for your entire professional life? You've completely missed the point if you think this. I've missed nothing apart from the memo that it was okay to personally abuse someone who has been offered the deal of a lifetime Yes, I'm sure he'll be sobbing all the way to the bank. Come off it mate, whatever he is, he's not a victim. Nobody said he was. That doesn't make that kind of behaviour any less pathetic from Villa fans though. If Blues fans were puiling the same crap they'd be getting laughed at on here
  7. Agree with everything you have said except this. Man City are not, have never been nor never will be a "bigger" club than Aston Villa. Richer yes.....but as we all know, money doesn't buy you class. Oh behave. They're far bigger than us in the modern game. Maybe not historically, but nobody is signing to play in their team 20 years ago
  8. Like his replacement who was attributed to seeing us as a stepping stone in the week? There won't be many players worth their salt we could sign who wouldn't see us as a stepping stone sadly
  9. And you're happy to call a man you've never met "scum" for moving to a club in a deal that'll see him play at a level Villa cannot offer and set up his entire family for life. Quite frankly, I genuinely couldn't give a toss what you think about anything. You've shown your true colours in this thread and I'm ashamed to be part of the same species as you, to be quite frank. Go get some goddamned perspective ffs I'm 99.9% certain Delph has never and will never visit Villa Talk. And even if he had occasionally, he would never do so at a time like this. So let people vent their anger on an Internet forum and stop comparing it to people going up to him and abusing him in the street. I wouldn't rule out some of the clowns on here abusing him in the street if they saw him tbh
  10. It's only a lie if he didn't believe it, and I for one think he meant every word. How the hell does anyone turn down 25m over 4 years though? I get your point but the math is all wrong, he wasn't playing at Villa for free. Nothing wrong with the maths. If the reports are correct, he's been offered 25m over 4 years. What he earned at Villa has nothing to do with that at all. Do you honestly think any player of Fabian Delph's ability and history would be right in the head to turn down that kind of money to play for a club like Man City? What he earned at Villa has nothing to to with it but what he would earn at villa during the same period of time does have something to do with it. Which would be less than half, give or take, of what he's getting at City? If he spent the rest of his career at Villa he'd earn less than this 4 year deal is worth to him
  11. I can see the club spending what it can afford to spend
  12. "Let me criticize you for overreacting with this not-at-all-hyperbolic-and-ridiculous comment" It's not the initial overreaction, it's his DEFENCE of it. He thinks it's perfectly fine to call the guy scum, and he's defending the fact that he did so.

Seriously, it's about the video and the quotes, that's the basis for the anger. I mean, someone even posted an image explaining it, not sure why you can't grasp it. I grasp it, but I think it's absolutely pathetic

  15. Do you honestly think that the vitriol is because he's leaving for more wages? And, if so, have you read ANY of the complaint comments in this thread? You're either being obtuse, OR... The vitriol is because, seemingly, a lot of people on here are absolute idiots with no idea about perspective and seemingly incapable of rational thought He's a man who kicks a football for a living. Calling him "scum" for moving to kick a football for another team is what I'd expect from a 10 year old
  16. Except for the fact he could have walked out this summer, for nothing, got a huge signing on fee and a massive salary. You are exactly right. No wonder players don't show loyalty anymore, it isn't appreciated. Fans are chumps. At least doing it that way would have shown some honesty to the club and fans. You really think we should appreciate him lying to us? He only lied if, when saying all that, he was thinking "I'll be off in summer, these mugs will eat it up though" Though you probably do believe that, since you've called him scum already in this thread. Tell you what, there's only one person I can see between you and him that even comes close to that kind of description, and it ain't the footballer Why only sign a deal with this clause if he didn't think he would be off in the summer? Can you explain that one? Because perhaps he fully expected to be saying around?

  20. I think we both know that's not true in the slightest. Look at the form he's historically turned out when there's something extra in it financially for him. He coasts when he thinks it doesnt matter and he turns it on when he thinks it does. Talented player, head is in the wrong place. If he stays, though, I think we'll actually see him put in some performances
  21. It's only a lie if he didn't believe it, and I for one think he meant every word. How the hell does anyone turn down 25m over 4 years though? If he truly believed it why ask for such a low clause? No idea why you're defending him on this. I'm not going to throw around reasons why the clause is there or who's idea it was. For all we know Fab said not interested when offered a new deal, and the club panicked and said right, how about this... and landed that in front of him. I'm defending him on it because people are being absolutely pathetic about it
  22. I don't really get this TBH. How has he ruined his career? He's moved to one of the biggest clubs (currently speaking) in the league, a club that'll be challenging for the title and other honours, a club that'll see him training with some of the best players in the league day in day out and helping him to improve his game, a club that'll see him play, however briefly, in the Champions League, and a club that's going to pay him 25 million quid over a 4 year deal. A career, generally speaking, is there to make you money, let you do what you're good at and, all going well, do it to as high a standard as you can. If he plays 15 games next season he'll still be achieving more than he would've done at Villa
  23. I didn't say a bigger club, I said a club like City. If spurs were in for him I don't think he'd have gone.
