  1. Yup, no getting away from it, that as of right now we're the lowest ranked non-promoted team in the Premier League. Each of the 16 clubs that finished ahead of us are, at least to some degree, a step above us on paper
  2. Apparently we've already lost our main midfielder. Who is that they're talking about?
  3. I'm not bothering with my PS4 again til they let me install games to an external drive like I can on the Xbox One. Sick of uninstalling to install, and I'm sure as hell not downloading 500GB+ of data to an upgraded drive.
  4. You mean we'll be unlucky to get it? Because we only have to sell once that's offered
  5. Ospina was an alright signing for 3m wasn't he
  6. Well, due diligence can drag on for months, so it would be unreasonable to expect all activities to be suspended for that duration. At the point of exclusivity the bulk of due diligence will likely have been done, and now it's a case of investigating anything there were issues/questions/concerns over during that period further, afaik
  7. Did you end up doing it? That'd have been a pretty interesting experience I reckon. I've never been privy to the sports side of this game, but I'd love to get involved with it even slightly
  8. Apparently been injured A LOT so no thanks. Arsenal and Liverpool are targeting him, but not good enough for us? Just because a paper said a club is after someone doesn't make it true Great - that means we are after no-one and Benteke's staying put! It means pay absolutely no attention to links in papers, because 99.9% of them are garbage
  9. It doesn't say that at all I think you'll find that it does: That's a list of players with contracts that expire in July. Not a list of player that have been released, if you read the article properly it clarifies that about ron

  11. Richardson on 65k pw over a 4 year contract costs us 13.5m Generic championship 4m defender on 35k pw over a 4 year contract would cost us 11.3m Really not that much of a difference all things considered
  12. Anyone can edit anything on wikipedia I could make Messi a Villa player if I wanted
  13. There's always a chance, but I don't think they're basing it on anything other than an educated guess. They definitely don't have it from inside Sony, because they're suspiciously impermeable right now regarding their E3 lineup, which is exciting. Christ knows they need to do something special - the last few months have been dreadful for PS4
  14. It's all about airflow and not repeating RROD for the moment, don't expect a slimmer one til next year at least
  15. "It's about [my agent]. He knows what I want and I'll let him do the job. I don't think about Aston Villa now" not exactly an endearing chap to villa fans is he?
  16. Not a chance. That's a bread and butter save. Good height, comfortable distance from the keeper, very little movement in the air. It's appalling keeping. She fell over slightly to her side instead of diving, and if she thought she wasn't going to get it, she should be going with one hand to turn it around, not two which restricts your reach and ability to turn it
  17. Not really. He was an employee of the club, what exactly did you expect them to do? Release him from his contract without paying?
  18. like literally every player in the villa squad*, i'm not pushed if ron goes. very good defender on his day, but injured too often. his regular absences meant we couldn't build a sustained alternative back line that didn't include him, because when he was back he was in the team, shaking everything up again. on paper, it's weakening us, absolutely, but i'm not sure if it will do all that much harm in the long run (i include everyone, including benteke and delph in that - there's just nobody in the squad at the moment that i'd be genuinely gutted to see go)
  19. Nah. Needed a win against Soton to guarantee safety. As it turns out, results elsewhere did that for us. I know on paper we did, BUT it needed a highly unlikely sequence of events for us to go down after that result
  20. I don't buy that sorry. The pressure hadn't been lifted against Southampton and we were battered. I think that game did for us in the final to be honest. It completely slaugtered all of the new found confidence, and the players almost to a man reverted to type. The pressure was gone after west Ham
